Cut-Off frequencies that are too high might eradicate the sample totally. The resonancy is based on Feedbackprocess. This produces a small peak of the cutoff frequency. The resonancy parameter de- termines the size of the peak. Choosing a too high value for the parameter could lead to selfoscillation of the filter, as it begins to produce sinus sound of the cutoff frequency that begins to dominate the signal (->your sample loses out).
