New features in Version 1.2 --------------------------- There have been made many changes to TimeGuardian since v1.1, especially the english documentation has been completely revised. Most of the significant changes are listed below: - the GUI was completely redesigned and many new features were added - especially two new statistics windows have been added. A text and a graphics window which will give you detailed information on your computers uptime. - a so called scheduler has been developed to make it very easy to create CronTable files. You won't have to handle the cryptic syntax anymore. - the standard Un*x syntax of the CronTables has been expanded by some very useful special events. This allows you e.g. to poll your the data from your mailbox in a predefined time range (cheaper), but it will happen only once a day. - there are two CronTables executed now synchroniously. One for global events and a second for events especially depending on the active project. - two special scripts were added, which will be executed "once a month" and "once a week" - as the "About" page has been removed, an autoclosing about window will be displayed during startup - you may scroll the days on the daily statistics listview - the task priority of the TGCron may be choosen, as some continously CPU using programs like Raytracers may keep it from executing some events - the log files are not stored for each year anymore. The data will be kept in one single file from which old entries will be deleted each month. The log history may be predefined. - two external modules for Reminder/Alerts and the log history feature were added to keep the size of TGCron very small. Although TGCron has been very improved, its size is still 26kB small. - due to an enhanced parser in TGCron the execution of CronTables will be about 10 times faster. - TGCron quits at once or rereads new config, you won't have to wait for the next full minute anymore. - TGCron is a full featured Commodity now, you may use a "CX_POPKEY" to start TimeGuardian by a shortcut. - ENV variable KEYPATH will be searched for keyfile, too. - the evaluation time for each day was expanded to 3h.
