b3tShorter? Why?tKalftfpf2s3c08 SHORTER? WHY? f1c10 Kalf/Darkage & Absolute! c10This article is written in reference to the article in c09Generation#24 c10called "Even Shorter Please' by c09Alive/Digital c10(ex-Shade/Digital). I want to comment on this article for some reasons, but anyway I want to say from the start that I don't have anything against Alive or his group. I show only my opinion, not to go against Alive for the fashion/trends. f2c08 FACE THE FACTS f1c10Alive c09says that most diskmags readers say that 20+ pages articles are boring and suck big time. c10Alive c09says that when he reads the long article he finds repetition of the cardinal points all over. If this is the reason then I agree with him, because repetition plainly is boring, but I don't agree that long articles are useless only because they are long. With this I don't agree at all with c10Alivec09. He states that the top main-editors are afraid to make short articles. Wrong! I cannot see what is wrong with saying all that I have to say and because of this the article becomes very long. I think that if a diskmag reader is not interested in the subject he wont read it not matter of the size. Also the readers don't know the exact size in kbytes of the articles! Only the pages can show, and every diskmag has different fonts, big and small, so the same article can take ten pages in one font and five pages in a small font. But I can`t see how c10Alive c09dares to express that the main-editors are caught in their little own world of dreams where they write articles for other editors and not for all the Scene guys. On what base is this happened? c10Alive c09is an editor and so he sees it like this. What are those articles about? Of course they are about the diskmag Scene, how wicked the main-editors are, etc. This is always the same, and I can write 100 articles about this. So I don't think that it's possible to ban articles about diskmags and main editors from diskmags, as all the diskmags have a section about other diskmags and some diskmags are all about main-editors and diskmags! f2Wow! f1This thing that the editors write long articles to please the VIS and because they are afraid is purely mad. And if people like this really exist, then also these guys are lunatic. What is a long article? One that is 10Kbytes big? And what is a short article? One that is 2Kbytes big? I think that this size in the articles does not exist at all. Every main editor can make a long or a short article. Every main editor can decide to have the big article cut into small ones. And every main editor can pack three small articles and bridge it to make one big article. c08So, the size does not exist at all! c09I have a feeling that this is another move to show the Scene guys who are the bad editors and who are the good ones. I don't agree with the main-editors who say in their diskmags that the small articles are bad. And I don't agree that the big articles must be boring. Because it is the reader that must see what is good or bad for him, and not the main-editors to tell him this is nice and this is not nice. This is totally crazy. Stop this please. c08I think that the Scene journalists are as bad as the real journalists. c09The real journalists always keep onesided and do not cover the whole affair. I don't know many journalists who let the people speak in the article, because they always want to speak and say what is bad and what is good. It's better to let the people talk and say their opinion because the Scene is of the people not of the main-editors. c10Sane/Sardonyx c09also said that the long-article writers think that when they write long articles it automatically means that they are good editors. Wrong! Infact, I fully agree with c10Sane c09only because as I have shown, the lenght means absolutely nothing. It does not show extra quality, not extra good language, nothing at all. A long and a short article about the same topic are exactly identical to me if they are written in a good language and are not composed of fake news. But as I respect the opinions of the Scene guys, I think that it's not good to say that the short article is a filler or the long article is boring, I think that the Scene guys must see this for themselves. f2c08 AXIOMES f1c09So after all this, there are some simple things to see:- c081. c10A short article is not a filler because if it is connected with other two short, it becomes a long one. c082. c10A long article is not boring just because it is long, since the editors could have cut it to four small articles. c09I don't know what is becoming good and what is becoming bad. Because there are main-editors that write long and short articles depending on their mood. So all main-editors are bad and good depending on the mood of who reads the diskmags! So I think that it is best to define a medium article that is not long and not short. But how do you know if this article is not boring too? Short articles can be boring too if they are not written good. c08These arguments are stupidc09, because there are many more important things that make the article, like the theme, the news values, the presentation, the language, etc. I think that there are existing problems that can only be found in the diskmag Scene. I don't see these problems anywhere else. If a coder makes his routines with no sound and graphics into a 4Kbytes intro the guys will like it for what it is - a small demo. Yet if the coder adds a lot of animations and mods to the 4Kbytes code it becomes a big demo! So the size is not important in the "normal" Scene. I think that only the main editors see the problems of the size because they must always think of something bad to discuss I don't read in the diskmags how good the articles of the main-editors are! Only that they are bad because they are fillers or long-boring! This is like in the world that my car is better than yours and c10my dick is 10cm longer c09than yours. Is this not childish? It is and the main-editors have also made articles about this. I don't see this problems in the old Scene when the main-editors were only making small articles and no one said about the fillers. But then c10Macno c09starts to write long articles in c10Abnormalia c09which is the great diskmag of the Scene where it speaks about the Scene not using the normal slang but with philosophy that no one could understand. f2c08 COMING TO A WELLDESERVED END f1c09There are the main-editors who want to make long articles because they have many things to say and explain. I think it's no problem for them to divide the big article, but this thing that they are afraid is not a reason. There are main-editors that make short articles that don't bring the background information and the beginners don't understand the story of what is in the Scene in five years before. So what about the c10medium article sizec09? This is the ideal, but I know from now that it is not, because the main-editors will always say something about the medium article being bad, boring and a filler!
