c03There  are some names in our Scene that have managed to do what most people can
only  dream  of:   to  earn the respect of sceners.  We all know who they are -
people  of  the  past  and present - people like:  c04Facetc03, c04Chaosc03, c04Offa c03and c04Mobyc03.
Groups  like:   c04TBLc03,  c04Sanityc03,  c04Artwork  c03and  c04Anarchyc03.   But why do we have such
admiration for these people and groups?

We  (the  Gen-collective)  thought it would be "interesting" to explore some of
the  reasons  in  this  article/list...whatever  you  want  to  call  it.   The
explanations we're about to give may seem obvious to most, but we still thought
it justified to highlight these guys - just so they know their outstanding work
hasn't gone unnoticed.  So, who do we respect?


c02                                  GENERATION

c03We respect c04Generation c03for being the oldest lady around and being one of the few
originals  left.   We  respect  c04Generation c03for being a mag for everyone without
censorship  and without rewriting complete articles under someone else's handle
or  -  even  worse  -  under  ones  own  handle, but with articulatory help for
non-writers and proper credits.


c02                               THE SCENE PRESS

c03We  respect the gathered Scene press for quoting our first respect to ourselves
(see  above) as Spandimerda outbreak.  This will spread the message and we will
once again be in everybody's mouthes.  We love you all.


c02                                  NERVE AXIS

c03We  respect  c04Nerve  Axis c03for having released the first full design demo in 1996
and 1997, proving that the spirit of the old British (Royal) Scene is alive and
that  one  can do better than the usual style, not only on a 68000 and 1 MB but
even on a 68030/50 and 8mb.

c03We  respect  the  gathered  Scene  press  for boasting the socalled war between
c04Scoopex  c03and  c04TRSI  c03with so much enthusiasm that we can hear the blood dripping
out  of  each  line  praying  for  a  halt  in  the battle.  You make objective
journalism come alive.  We love you all.


c02                                 ELVEN ELEVEN

c03We respect the Italian group and here especially c04Mantac03, coder of "Smart" (place
5;  Symposium'97),  for  openly announcing a PowerPC demo maybe already for The
Party  97.   This  might  be  the ideal way to convince people that Amiga has a
chance with PPC:  Just saying f4"I got one - you should aswell."

c03We  respect  this  little  tool on our workbench for swallowing all these weird
articles  which never make it into c04Generation c03and which for strange reasons can
be found in other magazines afterwards.

c03We  respect  the  c04Trashcan  c03team - aswell as similar magazine staff - who still
insist  on  writing each article twice:  Once in English, twice in their native
language.   Although  sometimes  it  might  be  hard  to differ between the two
versions,  this  extra  work  has  to  be  awarded  by  highest  respects and a
condemnation  of the Spanish scholarsystem which enforces our fellow writers to
go this strenuous path.

c03We  respect  a group that over the last two years has evolved a constant factor
for  productions  of  an  astoundingly high level although respect from Sceners
from outside Eastern Europe keeps sparse.
