I'll not only write a bit of info about the groups and their members, but also something about their productions, new and old. Anyway, generally speaking, the danish Scene is quite small, compared to the Polish or the Norwegian one, we're really not that big, we've kept getting smaller over the last years, a development that is quite normal. In addition many of the members of the groups in DK do not know much about the Scene, or are on the memberlist but haven't been active for ages. Quite sad, but there are f2some f1quality groups left, never fear. I'll write something about all the Danish groups that I can remember, meaning really f2all f1groups that call themselves groups, hehe, but you'll probably only recognize the names of a few, as many Danish groups aren't very known internationally. I'll also try to be fair and objective, but I'll fail in that I know, heh. And when I write known members, I only write Danes, even if the group has some extreme known foreigners, because this f2is f1a Danish Scene report you know. And besides, known members means the most known inside Denmark, not internationally. Some of the groups (us for example) have released other productions where also foreigners made a great deal of work, but those I haven't mentioned. It's not a fault, ok? Let's begin: f2c02Ambrosia: f1c03A good and also internationally known group, due to their swappers. They've released many good intros, the c04Riverhorse c03and c04Ard c03demos, the winning 4k at c04Symposium c03and their chippack, c04Miraclechipc03. Some people here in DK think they are dying, because c04Powdic03, one of their maincoders, the coder of e.g Riverhorse left them for c04Puzzlec03. But actually they are managing ok, c04Syntax c03made an infotro and the 4k after Powdi left, and they released an issue of the Miraclechip lately. Hmm, what are working on now? Hard to say, something for the SM party in October I'd say. They had some plans about a demo/intro for TCP, but that was not to be. c04Known Members: Syntax f2c02Chromatics: f1c03A very little group, consisting of I don't know how many members, but they have an ok graphician with the name of c04Gafkhanc03. I don't know anything about this group, but I wanted to mention as many groups as possible, heh. c04Known Members: None f2c02Death Row: f1c03A little Danish crew, who has released some demos. I can remember c04Flora c03and c04Trampc03. The latter was released at c04Symposium c03and was quite ok. I do not know what they're working on right now. c04Known Members: Fuzzy f2c02Depth: f1c03Ahhh, yes.. They have become quite known internationally because they are the new c04Eurochart c03makers, and they have also released several small demos and intros. Once they released some packs and a chipmusicdisk, but that is some time since now. A quite old Danish group, with some very talented musicians and graphicians. Their coders aren't that known, but the code for the Eurochart is a fine piece of work, and is not ripped from the old or anything, like some nasty rumours claim. And as for what they're working on. The EC of course, and that takes some time to do, but at parties they release small funny things, like at c04TCPc03. A quite active group nowadays, that is doing its part to uphold the Danish Scene. c04Known Members: Curt Cool, Cytron f2c02Efreet: f1c03This is a very skilled, but also very small (3 members) group. Recently, they joined c04Puzzle c03(there was an article about it in the EC), but it was not their style anyway, so they reformed c04Efreet c03again. They've made several very nice and highquality intros. They won the 4k intro compo at The Party 6 with c04Peanutc03, a very good 4k intro! They will probably try to win some intro competitions at SM this October, so their next release will be there. If we're lucky, c04Ambrosia c03and c04Efreet c03will compete against eachother on who are the best 4k makers. Should be quite a sight! c04Known Members: Blueberry f2c02Flood Demo Division: f1c03A little crew that is fighting hard to get the right members and release something. They have a good deal of members, and released the "demo" c04Jumping Jack c03at c04TCPc03. c04Known Members: None f2c02Fnuque: f1c03A very talented Danish crew that is virtually unknown outside of Denmark. A shame really, they have some quite good coders, and always make some funny or catchy productions. They had a demo that should have been released at c04TCPc03, but they missed the deadline. it was a nice demo, hope it'll be released soon! c04Known Members: Presence f2c02Gunnars Farve Bio: f1c03This used to be, for quite some years, the only real "fun" group in Denmark, it is almost unknown outside Denmark, but it has some real talented "members". "They" have made about 10 demos, some intros and other small things. At TCP "they" released a demo which came 2nd, a 40k intro which came 2nd and a 4k which won. Quite active I'd say, especially because those things were the work of only f2one manf1! In recent time, "they" have become more active, and more real effects minded, although I miss the good old GFB humour in "their" recent productions. c04Known Members: Boris Bahnhof f2c02Giga Productions: f1c03Another small Danish group, which used to be quite active with their c04AMOS c03demos. Yes I know, but they were really nice AMOS demos, heh. Nowadays they're working more on games and utilities, but who knows when they'll be back. They also have a quite skilled graphician, who recently joined c04Ambrosia c03as a doublemember. c04Known Members: Dr.Zulu f2c02IRIS: f1c03Ahha! Actually commenting on one's own group isn't that easy in such a report, seems like one may not say something too positive then, heh. So I won't, but IRIS (and it f2is f1in capital letters, because it stands for some latin sentence!) in DK began in 93' I think, and since then we've released aprox. about 12 intros, lots of packs, a musicdisk, a slideshow and two winning demos. We also hold the c04SM partyc03, which will take place in October this year. More info about that elsewhere. c04Known Members: Darkhawk, Notman f2c02Loonies: f1c03A little crew with a somewhat talented coder. They won the 40kb competition on a small party with a quite nice intro, apart from that, they've made some "fun" productions, but they seem to be getting more serious now (is that good or bad?), and they almost finished a demo that looked quite good at c04TCPc03, but that was not to be. They will almost certainly release something at c04SM c03I guess? c04Known Members: Psycho, Tarmslyng f2c02Puzzle: f1c03Ahh yes, here we have them, heh. According to c04Tricktrax c03the best and most unbeatable group in DK (see the article in c04EC#29c03). And honestly, it f2is f1a good group. In some ways... They are 10 members, and certainly have the most skilled coders available in DK. They also have atleast one good musician in c04Tricktrax c03and c04Deckardc03, as their main gfxman is also very good. In short, in many ways the best group in DK (argh, it pains me to admit it). Still, 3 members are doing almost all the work in Puzzle, and they have a problem getting their productions spread. If these things change, they could make quite an impact on the Scene. Anyway, it would be best for them to join another group (hint, heh). Their next release should be out when you read this. It will, according to plan, be released at c04Assembly '97c03. It will be called c04ZOO c03and contains some funny things about us and them, hmm. It is a very good demo, the best I've seen in a long time in DK really. It was meant to be released at TCP, but luckily for us it wasn't. Else I'd have to fake votes for us to win, heh. Other productions include demos, intros, a musicdisk and a slideshow. Their last production was the demo c04Nude c03which won the c04SM party c03in October 96 though, so they haven't been very active for a long time. Hope that will change now! c04Known Members: Hexagon, Tricktrax, Deckard f2c02Rebels: f1c03Yes, a very known group, and the Swedish division really kicks ass with their recent releases. In DK however, things are quiet, f2very f1quiet. Last release was the winning 40k intro at c04SSP 96c03, in June. The coder c04Freshprincec03, which is the mainmember in DK is not known to be very fast, infact his only two Scene releases is his debut 40k, which was placed second on c04TP3 c03and this intro. I don't think Rebels DK contribute much to the Danish Scene, but they're there (guess that's true for many), and they're able to make very good productions f2when f1they choose to. c04Known Members: Freshprince f2c02Scoopex: f1c03It's a bit the same with c04Scoopex c03as with c04Rebelsc03. A known and old group, but not very active in DK. However, c04Boogeyman c03has for a long time been one of the best Danish coders, and he's been really active in c04Passionc03. He joined Scoopex when it was clear that Passion had outlived itself, and released an intro around c04TP6c03, so that's not f2that f1long ago, but still too long I'd say. There are other Danish members, but yes. They are not concentrating much on the Scene to put it nicely. Still, it's not impossible that something very nice from them will pop up at c04TP7c03! They're talented enough, with atleast a good coder and graphician that I know of. Latest news is that Prophet joined them, so now they really have some good members in DK! c04Known Members: Boogeyman, Prophet f4c04 - Dead/Gone to PC groups - f2c02Impact DK: f1c03Actually they are now a PC only group, atleast in name, but they haven't made any PC productions yet. Their last Amiga production was the demo c04Pure Complexity Remixc03, which wasn't as good as we've become used to in my opinion. Anyway, the music by c04Unison c03was as always very good. c04Known Members: The Priest, Unison, Prophet (ex. Subject/Passion) f2c02Passion: f1c03They are dead, but some people seem not to know this. c04Decoy c03included I guess. He released a pack in the Passion name at c04Symposium '97c03, but he's the only member that still stick with the name, so I would say they can be safely called dead and gone, atleast for now. c04Boogeyman c03joined c04Scoopexc03, c04Prophet c03joined c04Impactc03, many of the others left the Scene. However, there will be one last surprise coming from Passion. c04Dansktoppen#7 c03will be released as a kind of nostalgia issue very soon! c04Ex. known members: Boogeyman, Prophet. f2c02Polka Brothers: f1c04Denmark is the land of the Polka dudes, right? Nope, since c04Preyc03, they haven't made anything, and that's.. 3 years ago? They are all busy working for softwarefirms in England, Norway and America. Some of them attended c04Symposium c03for old times sake though, but as a Scene group, they are dead. A comeback sometime? I don't know, but I don't think so. They do not seem interested in the Scene anymore. c04Ex. known members: A lot! Merge, Pixie, Slide, Airwalk, Mount, etc. c03That's it.
