Please make an Mpeg1-2/DVD Video/Audio player for 68040/68060/aga!!!
And PPC, too!

MPEG SITUATION
--------------

- In the year 2000/2001 an MPEG-SYSTEM (Video+Audio) Player in REAL TIME
  does not exist for 68040/68060/aga Amigas!!!

- In the year 2000/2001 an MPEG-DVD Player does not exist for Amiga PPC!

- Christmas 2000: No DVD players, no Amiga sales!

MPG ANIMS REQUIREMENTS:

- Anim MPEG-1 Video/Audio 352x288, FPS 30, Audio Layer I/II.
- Anim MPEG-2 Video/Audio 704x576, FPS 30, Audio Layer II/III.
- Anim DVD    Video/Audio 704x576, FPS 30, Audio Layer II Multi,AC3,DTS.

GRAPHICS:

Should run on any screenmode, including OCS/ECS/AGA and HAM6/HAM8,
16 grey ordered, 256 grey ordered, 16 color ordered, 256 color ordered,
fast ham6 and fast ham8.

VIDEO SPEED:
------------
Should implement:
- INTELLIGENT SKIP FRAMES
  No B frames.

- INTENSIVE SKIP FRAMES
  No B and P frames.

- EXTREME SKIP FRAMES                                <== VERY IMPORTANT
  No B, P frames and also skip a few I frames.

- BRUTAL SKIP FRAMES                                 <== VERY IMPORTANT
  Skip 29 frames per second and show only 1 frame.

- ABSOLUTE SKIP FRAMES                               <== VERY IMPORTANT
  Show one frame every three seconds, skip 89 frames.

- NO ODD LINES
  Don't display odd lines for greater speed.

The  internal  timing  (e.g.   time code) is not affected, so the FPS value
will be correct.

- MAXIMUM SCALING
  Size MPeg Anim to 176x144

- MIDDLE SCALING
  Size MPeg Anim to 320x200

- MINIMUM SCALING
  Size MPeg Anim to 352x288

AUDIO SPEED:                                         <== VERY IMPORTANT

Mpega.library is perfect and audio.device is better of ahi.device only.

WARNING:
--------
MPeg Video:
680xx and AGA is very slow but with a lot of frames skipped the
work is possible:
- No frame B - No frame P - skip a few frame I too - <== VERY IMPORTANT
Please update MPeg players with MPeg Video .DAT .AFS and DVD support.

MPeg Audio, please update mpega.library with:
- MPeg Audio swf (MPeg Audio with karaoke)
- MPeg Audio Layer II Multi_Channel
- MPeg Audio Layer IV
- MPeg Audio AC3
- MPeg Audio DTS

DVD PROBLEM:
------------
- RPC-1 ==> Regional playback control 1. Code in MPeg players. No  Problem
- RPC-2 ==> Regional playback control 2. Code in DVD firmware. No  Problem
- CSS   ==> Content scrambling system. Code with cryptography. Problems..
- DVD playback softwares for window are: PowerDvd (www.cyberlink.com.tw) and
  WinDvd (www.intervideo.com)

FUTURE:

- A REAL TIME MPEG SYSTEM Player for 68040/60/aga:
- Good idea 1: hardware MPEG decoder for the Amiga 1200 clock port!
- Good idea 2: No Amiga AGA nor PPC but Playstation II for MPEG/DVD ?
