+++ AmigaOS 3.9 released +++ Amiga DE Version for ultimate consumer not expected before July +++

With this news welcome to the first edition of AMIGA aktuell in the year 2001.

At the World of Amiga, which took place at the beginning of December in Cologne, Germany, the new version 3.9 of the AmigaOS was released as previously announced. Unfortunately at this fair it was disclosed, that we cannot expect the new Amiga Operating System AmigaDE before July of this year - meaning, that we will have to wait for at least another half a year.

Now I'd like to welcome Juergen Theiner and Malte Mende to the editors' staff of AMIGA aktuell. Juergen and Malte have together taken over the management of the Games Section.

Concerning our regular appeals:

• Request: Every author of an article rejoices to get some acknowledgment, as well as helpful criticism, and feels encouraged. Therefore please don't hesitate to share your opinion of the various contributions, either writing directly to the author or to AMIGA aktuell <aakt@aakt.de>.

• We are always on the lookout for staff members, who regularly, sporadically or just once contribute to AMIGA aktuell.

Concerning topic there are almost no limits. If you are interested please come forward to <aakt@aakt.de>.
