A nice piece of software has arrived from Budapest, Hungary - a CD Player. Not just any player, but quite a special one. GroovyPlayer, once shareware, has been freeware for a little while now (thanks Miklós). Admittedly, although there is truly an enormous variety of CD Players for the Amiga, in all honesty, which of these has really worked first go, worked in their own CD environment, and also looked visually appealing? GroovyPlayer does, and it doesn't even require MUI.

What does it do that makes it so good? It can work with both SCSI and ATAPI devices, and it looks pretty good on the Workbench. Interestingly enough, the volume, balance and eject/close controls function on especially bothersome ATAPI drives - they really do work. The functional extent is limited to the playing of audio CDs only, compatible however in every way with the MCDPlayer ID manager. It runs intuitively, economically and cleanly in the system. As a CD player, GroovyPlayer is fully recommended.
