2. Metabox informs about specifications of the PowerPC-G3 boards for A1200

Metabox informs about the planned sales prices and specifications of the PowerPC-G3-boards for A1200 computers:

• amiJoe1200 - 250/512kb DEM 895,- tax incl. = Euro 400,- plus tax


• amiJoe1200 - 300/512kb DEM 1095,- tax incl. = Euro 480,- plus tax


• amiJoe1200 - 333/1Mb DEM 1395,- tax incl. = Euro 615,- plus tax


• amiJoe1200 - 400/1Mb DEM 1549,- tax incl. = Euro 680,- plus tax

PCI compatible slots (for SCSI controllers, graphic boards, USB controllers and IEEE 1394), a DMA-IDE bus (for hard disks, CD-ROM and DVD drives etc.), a memory expansion unit for up to 512 MByte RAM (using SO-DIMMs, PC66) as well as a real time clock will be in the series. Also included will be a 68k emulation, so you can use the common Amiga software. Metabox plans to offer an I/O interface card and a graphics board as extensions.

The amiJoe1200 is supposed also to be used with A1200 compurters in the standard keyboard case. There are also additional boards for the A2000 (ajiJoe2000) and A3000/4000 (amiJoe4000) under development. These will be clocked with 466 MHz and will be able to host 768 MByte SD-DIMM (PC 100)-RAM.
