»With your permission I'd like to try to elucidate the situation of the
former Middle-East European Amiga community: If the new Amiga will be able
to compete in price, power and software with the PC, then the former
amigans - like me - will give up their PCs and again buy an Amiga. Here
a PC (with 400 Mhz Celeron, 64 MB RAM, 15"-Monitor, etc.) costs presently
appr. 250.000.- Ft. This means converted 2000.- DM, but here the average
salary is appr. 50.000.- Ft., please take this into account. That means,
it is big expense for anybody. But if I have that much money for a PC and
know the advantages of the Amiga, I will certainly buy an Amiga and perhaps
I'll pay up to 20 or 25 percent more. Here in Veszprém, where I live, in
the beginning of 1990/91 there were ten to twelve guys who had an Amiga.
Now there is only one left, but he is already retired and cannot buy anything.
If I want to experience the Amiga feeling I visit him - the Amiga
emulations are not the right thing!
