RUNNING PULLER
Puller is the part of PushPull which actually performs the web page monitoring. Once started it runs through all the URLS in the database. Any pages which have been updated are noted.

If Puller is running in ONLINE mode then it simply adds these pages to the update page which is displayed in your browser once Puller has finished.

If Puller is not running in ONLINE mode then it actually downloads these pages to your harddrive so you can view them at your convenience.

There are four gadgets on Puller:

BUTTON
DESCRIPTION
CPS The speed at which the current document has been downloaded. This is useful for deciding whether to skip to the next URL or not.
FILE SIZE The amount in bytes of the current document downloaded so far.
SKIP URL Skips the current file and moves on to the next one.
ABORT Closes down Puller as quickly as possible. NOTE there may be a short pause if it was in the middle of negotiating a TCP connection.

Puller can be run safely offline, but it won't actually do anything useful. :)

Puller's GUI can be re-sized horizontally but not vertically. The vertical size is calculated based on the size of your chosen font.

THE LOGFILE
In order to speed up debugging Puller creates a very detailed logfile as it runs. Depending on your computer knowledge this may be of use to you. It is very useful to me however and if you send a bug report then please send the logfile (PushPull.log) with it.
