All this floppy talk got me interested, so I did a little test. Sure enough (as I said earlier), my A3K/16MHz Read/Write 1.44 PeeCee Floppies at least 2X that of my A1200'030-50MHz! What's more, I get errors on some floppies in the A1200, and stick them in the A3K and they read fine! With the 040/25MHz in the A3000, they R/W even faster! Well, I no of no flat file-database on the PeeCee that's quite as good. I don't use my PeeCee for business stuff, but they are great for Games ! Actually, you might consider ACCESS, or any of it's related programs, as it is quite subtantial, even though it IS from Microsloth. Keep in mind that it is relational, so many of the queries don't work the same. FoxPro for Winblows would probably work even better. If it were me, I'd move the data to Final Calc, and then Xfer it over to a PeeCee Spreadsheet, like Quattro or Ex-Hell. Spreadsheets can do a lot of flat file work, and don't do a bad job of picking up the data (Database>Spreadsheet). I've honestly never tried to go from Database>Database. Well... Yes! When put addbuffers 100 to PC0:, now deleting takes around 8 seconds! Right!!! :))) Copying any file (3 KB file for example) will now take around 10 seconds to copy. (I mean - it is copied fast, but needs 8 seconds more before led diode turns off.) Also copying 16kb .guide txt file to PC0: now takes around 35 seconds... And displaying the this guide text (16 kb) takes 25 seconds from double click to show up. Not fast but I think it is slightly faster. Thanx. My wife often ran into the same problem you describe but I never did. I just ended up correcting her situation. What has happened is that you are typing in graphic mode, I believe, and you need to pay more attention to your cursor instead of your mouse to avoid this situation. With my limited experience with Finalwriter, I simply did not get into this situation by typing where my cursor was and using the arrow keys instead of the mouse. Anyway, to correct your problem, just select your text, cut, then make sure you are not in graphic mode (not the arrow icon at the top), place your cursor at the top of a page and make sure it responds to arrow keys, then paste. You should now be able to continue for endless pages. It might be that FinalWriter don't support 16 and 24 bit screens :(( Terrible! Have you tried FW since your initial > problem? No no. My Workbench is opened at 24 bit, not 16. So that's why FinalWriter is looking corrupted... When open it on 16bit - it is terrible slow. I'm using CyberGFX3 driver and have BVision gfx card. What you have to do is go into PageSetUp and check these settings: Sheet Feed and that the top and bottom margins exist. Then LayOut / Section. Check the values are set there too. I am sory I can't remember the EXACT remaby. But what it was to do with is that FW doesn't like the top/ bottom GRAPHIC margins being 0 and or the TEXT margins being the same as the graphic ones. What the goal is that when you are looking at the page on the screen, you need two seperate margins. Graphic and Text. The text MUST be INSIDE the graphic one, or all hell breaks loose. then muck about with the values to set them to what you like best. The bug is in the RTF import filter of FW (but only for RTF file written whit other WordProcessor). I resolved it by making an Arexx script that provides to cut the entire text, close the file and paste all on a new document. After this the print works fine. However keep in mind that FW does not recognize top and bottom margins of an RTF file.
