(2) It gives More Memory informations with percentage of free ram and other useful informations. (3) It can disable the fast ram and Switch Display from 50 Hz Pal or 60 Hz Ntsc, for demos or games executed from the Workbench. (4) It can clean the memory from unused libraries, fonts and devices. It's small (don't use MUI or BGUI) and solid (I use it every day in my Workbench!). ============================================================================ Requirement ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To use this program you must have an Amiga with minimum AmigaOS 2.04 and a 68000 CPU. X-Panel doesn't use custom libraries for its GUI. ============================================================================ Installation ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The installation is simple: you drag the X-Panel icon in to the "WBStartup" drawer, then you reset your Amiga, when the boot is finish a new item will be in the "Tools" menu of the Workbench. This item is X-Panel, when you select this a GUI pop up with many options and some useful informations. If you have a 68020 or better CPU there is a special version of this program in to the "68020+" drawer. ============================================================================ Options ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Processor options Ntsc <> Pal cycle gadget No fast memory cycle gadget Flush Memory button Quit button OK button ============================================================================ Processor options ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The processor options are situated in the right on the window. The single options have the following meaning: Inst. Cache : switches on/off the CPU Instruction Cache (68020+) Data Cache : switches on/off the CPU Data Cache (68030+) Copyback : switches on/off the CPU CopybackMode (68040 only) Inst. Burst : switches on/off the CPU Instruction Burst (68030 only) Data Burst : switches on/off the CPU Data Burst (68030 only) (at the 68040/68060 'Burst is not switchable, since it is not changable by software) ============================================================================ NTSC <> PAL cycle gadget ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This cycle gadget change the video mode from PAL to NTSC or from NTSC to PAL. This function can take advantage of SetMan or PatchControl for removing his patches, the commodore once no. ============================================================================ Flush Memory button ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This button remove from the memory all unused libraries, fonts and devices. The code of this function is better then the Avail command have. ============================================================================ Quit button ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This button kill X-Panel and exit on Workbench. ============================================================================ OK button ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This button exit without kill X-Panel. ============================================================================ ToolTypes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- X-Panel support only one tooltype: PUBSCREEN=pubname: If you wish to have X-Panel opened on another public screen than the Workbench. ============================================================================ SetMan ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This program modifies the SetFunction() vector, and inserts a custom routine. It keeps a linked list of all changes to the jump tables, and allows any program to remove its vector at any time. Moreover, it allows to modify dos.library vectors in a transparent, upward compatible, way.
