THE AMIGA aktuell international competition

1. Results of the last competition

65 readers attended on our last competition.

Zur Aufloesung:

Standard question:  In the moment a team of programmers is working to port the well-known Internet package Netscape Communicator. Which is the name expected for the Amiga version?

Answer: The correct answer is 'aMozilla'.

Master question:  And now for something completely different - history: Who was the press spokesman of Amiga Technologies?

Antwort: Here we got some very interesting names from some people, e.g. Petro
Tyschtschenko (actually he was the president of Amiga Technologies), Karola Bode
(she really was press spokeswoman for some time, but for Commodore and DPK
Dr. Peter Kittel (who worked in the development department of Amiga Tehnologies).
The press spokesman of Amiga Technologies we were looking for was Gilles
Bourdin, but most of you knew that.

Question of opinion:  Were your expectations for the Amiga fulfilled in the last year?

The result::

Answer number of answers

1 (Yes, absolutely.)
2 (Yes, mostly.) 15
3 (No, mostly not.) 38
4 (No, absolutely not.)

Two mor attendents could not decide between 2 and 3.

Conclusion:

The result is clear, again: For most of you the expectations did fulfill partly. Amiga can be happy, that most of the disappointed answered with a moderate "3", else it would be worse for the Amiga.

According to the question of opinion of the previous competition most of the readers is optimistic for the future, what is a good sign. But it is to consider, that the changeover in the top of Gateways Amiga subsidiaries has been made public after the closing date of the competition.

But now to the winners of the last competition:

1 x interface card "Hypercom 3+": Thomas Franziskowski
1 x full version von "CDCat": Andreas Weyrauch
1 x full version von "ManiacBall": Christoph Bubel
1 x full version von "HomeCINEMA": Oliver Tacke
1 x paint program "ImageFX": Michael Scholz

Congratulations!
