5. Another way to get Free Internet Access on the AMIGA in the UK

Get Miami or AmiTCP from an Amiga Format or old CU Amiga CD coverdisk.

How to Sign Up
Connect to Freeserve using the access number above.
Use the Login "freeservesignup" and the Password signup.
You will now be logged in to the Net, but now you need your own account,
so using IBrowse, Voyager, AWeb or other browser from an Amiga Magazine CoverCD,
point your browser at: https://signup.freeserve.net/.
Follow the instructions and choose a first email address:
eg. myname@amigaking.freeserve.net
where "myname" is my chosen name and "amigaking" is one of several possible mail prefixes.
Once finished you are invited to click a "Finished" button which
downloads a file called "install.ins" and alters IE4 settings on a PC.
You can safely ignore this Quite handy really...do you want other
people fiddling with your machine?
Now disconnect and replace the earlier temporary PPP account details with
your new settings.
PPP user name: yourlogin.freeserve.co.uk
Password: as submitted
eg. PPP would be amigaking.freeserve.co.uk
Here are some more details that will allow you to get the most out of
your account - and also to start making web pages to tell the rest of the world about your cool
Amiga and how good those new PPC cards really are! :-)

Notes
You need to change your PPP Authentication from chap to pap
Oh.. and remember when you're entering your login name into
Miami/AmiTCP and your email/news programs that it is yourlogin.freeserve.co.uk and not just "yourlogin" which most other ISP's would use.
