Does anyone have a good attribute for stressed wood? I am trying to
create a door similar to the ones on Chartes cathedral and can't get
them to look worn.

Ho Charles,

I havn't seen the cathedral you mention. I'm not exactly sure what you
mean by "stressed wood".

I sometimes use a fractal bump texture to create the look of ancient
weather beaten wood. scale one of the axis to get long, thin bumps,
and the noise randomises the grooves a bit. Add a bit of the old
faithful dirt texture.

SSrockbumps makes a particularly nice wood texture IMO.

Heh, Probably not quite what you mean Charles 8)

There is "artwork" done in this manner also. The wood is worn inside
the grooves of the grain giving it a wave type appearance.
