Firma Index entwickelt und ist voll kompatibel mit besehenden
Amiga Modellen. Durch die neu Konstruktion ist es allerdings den
Hardware Designern die Grafikausgabe um etwa 30% zu beschleunigen.
Eiegentlich ist das einfach nur ein besserer Amiga 4000. Der
Unterschied besteht hauptsächlich in der Möglichkeit später
kostengünstiger auf PowerUP aufzurüsten. Das BoXer 2 Board soll
nächstes Jahr angeblich mit aktiven PCI Slots kommen. Schaffen
wird man das mit Sicherheit, nur ob das dann noch einen Sinn
macht ist eine andere Frage.
Es wird einfach sehr schwer sein die Leute zu bewegen sich den
BoXer bzw. BlackBox zu kaufen. Der ist immernoch zu teuer.
Es ist zwar eine tolle Alternative und auch ne Möglichkeit
gleich vom Amiga1200 auf den BoXer umzusteigen, aber es ist
kein Rechner mit dem man viele neue Kunden gewinnen können
wird. Doch lassen wir uns überaschen. Darf man den Versprechungen
von Index glauben so wird man daran intensiv arbeiten das Board
so preiswert wie möglich zu machen.

medium cost home/semi-professional Multi-Media computing motherboard
