Engine-X
Engine-X is a new system of that allows up to eight players play up against each
other on a range of courses. Each course consists of randomly selected levels from
different games. This has been described by the author as a "new concept" a bit
like Games Master (TV show) or a kind of Gamers' Olympics.
There are six games altogether in Engine-X each influenced by various games such
as Double dragon II, R type 1, Un squadron, Ikari Warriors, Forgotten Worlds,
Dragon Ninja, Renegade, Smash TV, Gryzor and Midnight Resistance. Each one of
these games has roughly the same format of progressing through a stage with
middle bosses and a big boss at the end.
Engine-X requires an 060 processor, Hard Drive, and 4 MB Fast Ram. To play it
with eight players you'll need two Amiga's connected through a serial cable and
two four player adaptors along with joypads. At present it will take another several
months of development with it requiring a Publisher.
