There was a time (let's say two months ago:-)) when I had no CD-ROM and all search- programs I found, were really sucking because they were not fontsensitive and I HATE topaz/8!!! Therefore I decided to write my own search program but I had not the Developer-CD thus I wrote it using MUI, sorry to everyone I know that MUI isn't THE solution but it is very easy to implement it and it is @{B}fontsensitive@{UB}!!! And so began my adventure DirScanner, one of my first (released) programs. Anyway do I think that it's not too bad but if you have any suggestions: write @{"me" LINK autor}! I think you'll find more reasons while using it!!! @ENDNODE feat @NODE anl "Manual" Okay, you made till the manual that's very gentle from you:-). But let's don't moon around: When DirScanner is started a nice about-requester appears but let's describe the interface: You can see two listviews, in the top one can be found the files that match your pattern that can be defined in the lower right corner (the string-gadget). The lower-left one is a list of paths that will be scanned for your pattern. The two buttons below this list explain on their own (do they?:-)), Below the pattern can be found two little cycles the use and sense of them is clear (is it:-)?). Finally I think it's wasted time to describe the function of the "Start"-button... But I think that I have to say something about searching by date because the date has to be in the dos-format, that means: DD-MM-YY. Valid dates: 25-3-80 25-03-80 (my birthday...:-)) A invalid date: 25-03-1980 After starting the hunt, the left listview will be filled with the files that match the pattern if you doubleclick on one of them a inforequester will appear. Here are also two gadgets one tries to start the file and the other tries to view it using a viewer defined in the env-variable called SD_Viewer. If this variable isn't defined, DirScanner tries to use SYS:Utilities/Multiview. I think that's it.
