Short: V1.11 INDEX display, find & more (MUI) Uploader: mdoyen@nordnet.fr (Maxime Doyen) Author: mdoyen@nordnet.fr (Maxime Doyen) Type: util/misc Replaces: util/misc/aminetidx.lha Requires: OS2.x (V37+), MUI 3.1+, NList.mcc Version: 1.11 Introduction ------------ «AminetIdx» is an easiest manner for displaying, finding and doing your shopping into Aminet INDEX, using the best combination available: MUI (© Stefan Stuntz) and NList.mcc (© Gilles Masson). «AminetIdx» is freeware but copyrighted by me, it parses and split Aminet INDEX into dirs and subdirs, and enable filtering the display with pattern and age. Sorting is also possible in any order you want. Main features includes ---------------------- - dirs and subdirs list - pattern filter appliable on 'Files' and/or 'Descriptions' - age filter, with some fast presets - sorting by click on columns title - marked file list for shopping purpose - save marked files as ascii file - check if marked files exists on your hd aminet tree dir Requirements ------------ - Kickstart 2.0 or higher - Workbench 2.1 or higher - MUI 3.1 or higher (not provided -> util/libs) - NList.mcc (not provided -> dev/mui) - Enough memory (according to size of the INDEX loaded) Getting started --------------- 1) select an INDEX, it should be loaded and parsed... 2) it is now ready to use, change displayed dir, filter, sort... 3) you can mark a file by double clicking on it 4) once you have set the 'Aminet Root', you can test if marked files already exist in your hd, e.g, my hd feature the complete Aminet dir tree with files downloaded on it, 'Test Exists ?' button will check files to avoid downloading already existing ones, 'Aminet Root' should be set to the root aminet dir on your hd. 5) you can also save these marked files into an ascii file Version 1.11 (05-Sep-98) ----------------------- - fixed a major bug, subdirectory INDEX files (e.g comm/INDEX) were not recognized. Version 1.1 (26-Aug-98) ----------------------- - some layout changes - now uses NList.mcc (© Gilles Masson) - removed sort gadget, now click on columns title - splitted global dirs tree into dirs and subdirs - added a marked list for shopping purpose, you can collet files, check if exist on your hd, and save the list as an ascii file
