Contacting the author 7. Licence 1. What is it? -------------- Yet another Workbench appicon trashcan thingy. No really special features, except that it tries _fragging hard_ to delete a file or directory. Some Workbench trashcans that I've used try once and then give up. This was the motivation behind LandFill; I was fed up with dragging directories into my appicon trashcan, only to find the icon still there and some deeply-nested directory holding everything up. I wrote LandFill for myself. It contains very little in the way of nice features to aid customization. Everything works in the way I want it to. If you don't like it, tough :-) I wrote it for me, not you :-) 2. Installation --------------- LandFill needs AmigaOS release 2.04 or greater. If you have a lower version, you may as well skip the rest of this document :-) Drag the icon into WBStartup, making sure that the DONOTWAIT tooltype is set. Next time you boot, you'll have a "LandFill" appicon on your Workbench. LandFill can be customized with tooltypes, see section 4. LandFill uses the image attatched to its icon as the image for its appicon. You can therefore configure the look of your app-trashcan by changing LandFill's icon. I recommend a nice NewIcons one. If I were you, I'd ensure that the "Stack" field in the icon information window is set to about 6000, as the directory delete function used by LandFill is very recursive. 3. Usage --------- Drag a load of icons over the LandFill appicon. They can be disks, drawers or files. LandFill will ask you to confirm that you really do want to delete them. If you answer in the affirmative, LandFill will zap each file, recursively zap each drawer and its contents, and zap the contents of each disk. If any file can't be deleted, LandFill will tell you why. Double-clicking on the appicon will bring up a requester, giving you the option to quit. 4. Tooltypes ------------- LandFill looks for the following tooltypes: FORCE: Instructs LandFill to override delete protection on files. LABEL: Changes the default icon label from "LandFill" to something else. For example, "LABEL=Trashcan". XPOS: Instructs LandFill to place its icon at the given horizontal position, if possible. For example, "XPOS=20". YPOS: Like XPOS, but for the vertical position. For example, "YPOS=300". 5. Bugs -------- Lots, probably. LandFill has not been beta-tested by anyone. I wrote it for me, remember :-) It works fine for me, and doesn't seem to contain any Enforcer hits. If you have problems, report them to me and I'll see what I can do. 6.
