** How to create a .misc file with out the Grab Info script for 2.0 ** If you are unable to run the scripts we have provided but still want to take advantage of the read in misc file abilities of the Guru-Dat database, then here is what you must do to create a "fake" .misc files to load in. ** IMPORTANT WARNING ** You MUST wait for the Game to finish the listings before you move on to the next step. If you screw up you have to start all over again. Start: Start this list at the games MAIN prompt! Step 1. Open a capture and use the same name you are going to use for the database. Example: white.misc is used for the white.dat database. Step 2. From the games Main Prompt hit the "V" key Wait for it to finish. Step 3. Hit the "C" key to enter the Computer. Step 4. Hit the "M" key to pull down a copy of your messages. Step 5. Hit the "D" key and when prompted enter YESTERDAYS game date. Example: 08/15/06 The game will tell you the current date. Step 6. Hit the "L" key and then the "V" key to get a Trader Ranking. Step 7. Hit the "R" key and then enter "1" and hit return. Too get a list of the current prices for Holds, Fighters, and Shields. Step 8. Hit the "Z" to get a list of your available unmanned ships Step 9. Hit the "Y" key to do a personal planet scan Step 10. Hit the "Q" key to quit the computer Step 11. Hit the "T" key and then the "L" key to do a Corp planet scan Step 12. Hit the "A" key to do a corp assets listing Step 13. Hit the "Q" key to quit the corp menu Step 14. Hit the "G" key to get a deployed fighter listing Step 14. Hit the "K" key and then the "1" key to show deployed Armid mines Step 15. Hit the "K" key and then the "2" key to show deployed Limpet mines Step 16. Hit the "I" key to get an Info listing of your current ship Step 17. Close the capture file and save it to the TW:Data drawer. You now have a copy of what the .misc file will show you every day. It would have been alot easier to just use Terminis but no.....
