======= How To Update The Firmware for Rockwell 56K Modem (26'05'1998) ======

CAUTION: Please operate following procedures carefully,because any
         operation incorrectly will cause the Modem not working.

1. Readme.txt   : This file.

2. Flshlodr.s37 : Flash Loader.

3. *.s37        : Modem BIOS for your modem.
                  Note: You must select one firmware depending the protocol
                        of your Internet Service Provider and modem model.
                  K56flexe.s37 : protocol K56Flex for Rockwell External Modem
                  V90e.s37     : protocol V.90    for Rockwell External Modem

Update Modem BIOS Using [Any Terminal] Program ie: Ncomm :
=========================================================

1. Load your comms software

2. Enter "at&f" --> response : "OK", then enter "at**".

3. The screen will display "Download initiated.." message.

4. Select [Transfer] and select [Send Ascii Text...].

5. Select the flash loader "Flshlodr.s37" & click OK.

8. The screen will display "Download flash code..." message.

9. Select [Transfer] and select [Send Ascii Text...].

10 Select one file "*.s37" & click OK.

   Note: You must depend the protocol of your Internet Service Provider and
         modem model to select one file.

    K56flexe.s37 : protocol K56Flex for Rockwell External Modem
    V90e.s37     : protocol V.90    for Rockwell External Modem
    
11 The screen will display "......................................".
   This will take several minutes.

12 Till the screen display "Device successfully programmed" message,
    please wait several seconds, then enter "at&fi3i4" to verify the
    new version.(Finished)

13 If you can't check AT command, please restart your computer to repeat
   step1 <-> step13. If the modem is not responding, please do as following:

PANIC!!!!!!!

The manual say's contact your dealer for help but as you will be doing this on
your Amiga & your probably using a modem selected for a PC .. I doubt they
will listen.

I have tested this with my Origo Fax Modem (External) 56000 & also a Trust
comunicator On an A1200 using Ncomm.
