Short: Powerful and configurable Amiga IRC Bot Author: Rune "Shitlips" Jacobsen «shitlips@fido.euroline.no» Uploader: Rune "Shitlips" Jacobsen «shitlips@fido.euroline.no» Type: comm/irc Requires: 68020+, AmigaOS v39+, AmiTCP-compatible TCP/IP-stack Replaces: comm/irc/Henry.lha Information for beta versions of Henry by Rune Jacobsen · General Information *UPDATE* The last archive was uploaded without Sigbjørn Skjæret's PageICQ ARexx script. This has now been corrected. This is version 0.38 of Henry. A lot of stuff has been fixed and/or updated, and as with every release, it is better than ever. Some pretty cool news on the ARexx script front, with SMS, ICQ, translation and conversion scripts included. Also, even tho this has no other visible effect yet than a distinct lack of GUI, Henry is now completely (sort of) modularized, meaning a lot of future enhancements will come in the form of external plugins. Of course, as soon as it is ready, the API information regarding this will be included with Henry, so you can write your own stuff. · Problems If you have any problems running Henry, please mail me on one of the following addresses: henrysupport@fido.euroline.no (Official Henry support address) rune@euroline.no (Work) shitlips@fido.euroline.no (Home) Please mail me instead of talking to me on IRC etc., as I tend to forget stuff. · Henry on the WWW Go to http://fido.euroline.no/Henry/ to find the official (public) Henry page. This page is VERY under construction, nothing sensible is on there at the moment. · Docs I know the lack of docs have been a problem in the past. There are still no finished docs availible, but a simple tutorial and a FAQ has been included. Read these, and the chances that you'll understand how to configure and use Henry will grow considerably. · New features This is a rough run-down of new features since the last version of Henry was released November 13th 1997: · Running on DALnet now works properly. · Several cool ARexx scripts included. · Authentication is implemented for commands. · Although Henry has had protection against flooding off for quite some time, it now also ignores flooders after a while. · Properly shuts down when recieving CTRL-C. · New internal command: SView. · New ARexx commands: ADDNEWS, TOPIC, LOGPUBLIC. · New CTCP commands supported: CLIENTINFO, ECHO, SOURCE. · Internal memory management system that detects all leaks and automatically performs "garbage collection" on system resources. · Rewrote entire ARexx port as part of the main program. · Removed the GUI from the program. · Wrote a lot of internal stuff for handling subtasks. More on this soon! · Lots of small bug fixes and enhancements. The GUI, which was little more than a userlist, has been removed from this version, and will reappear as a plugin in a later version. The plugin API is not yet finished, and thus not included with this version, but will hopefully be present in the next Aminet release. · Legal mush Using Henry means you accept to not hold me responsible for any damage or anything else resulting from its use. If you can not accept this, you are not allowed to run Henry. I'm sorry, but thanks to Microsoft and their likes, this is what the world has turned into. Distribution of this beta version is limited to the Henry home page and Aminet. Appearance of this Henry archive, in part or whole, on any Microsoft controlled media (except the internet) is very illegal and means they accept a fine of 150000 norwegian kroner, to be paid to me (Rune Jacobsen).
