Mail Monitoring Script for AmIRC v0.3 - First release (C) 1998 Stefan Oggemar Introduction "No new mail", often you see this message after loading your favourite email reader, and all the time you wished that there was some kind of software telling you when you have new mail. There are a few POP account checkers on the net but this one is to be used with AmIRC (the best Amiga IRC client). Now you don't need to load your email reader or have Yam in the background eating memory. This little script checks your email account and tells you if and how many emails you have waiting on the server. All this while still chatting with your friends on IRC. Features Not many at the moment but the one and only feature is: - Checks your POP account evey N:th minute (Where N is a number of minutes 1 - alot) Installation 1. Copy the script to your Amirc REXX directory. 2. Edit the four lines in the top of the script server - Add your servername here user - Add your username here password - Add your password here minutes - Change this to any amount of minutes you want (5 minutes is default) DONT REMOVE THE SINGLE QUOTES!!!!! 3. In AmIRC, go into the Lists/Aliases dialogue and enter the following: mail /rx mailcheck.amirx %p 4. Save settings Usage There are only two commands: /mail start - Starts monitoring your POP account /mail stop - Stops monitoring your POP account To Do list * Add support for multiple POP servers/accounts * Use a config file and a config gui, instead of editing the script. * Start YAM to fetch the emails upon users request.
