DLG 1.26 GAMMA distribution (Upgrade from V1.2.4)
 ===========================

This is a **gamma** release of DLG 1.26.  The install script for this would
be a bit bizarre and difficult if not impossible to assemble, so you will
need to install it manually.

 1.   MAKE BACKUPS OR LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES!!! :-)

      Specifically, back up everything in DLGConfig:, all control files
      in USER:, all control files in MSG: and FILE:. If this is a bit too
      complicated, just back up *everything.*

 2.   Use GETPORT to shut down all external ports:

         Getport -p TR0
         GetPort -p TR1
                        etc...

 3.   Validate ALL new users -- no conversion program is provided for newuser
      files.

 4.   Unpack the archive.  Be sure to use the -a option for LHA to preserve
      the pure bit on all executables.

 5.   CD to the C directory of this archive.

 6.   Copy USER:USERS.BBS to DLGCONFIG:MISC/USERS.BBS.

 7.   "FixUsers" from the DLG dir of this archive to DLG:, then run it.


   ***   If any of the following programs fail, STOP RIGHT AWAY and restore your
   ***   backups. Then contact me with the error information.

 8.   Run the following programs:

         o  ConvertAreas      - convert file and message area configs

         o  ConvertGlobals    - convert port global config files

         o  ConvertSIGs       - convert SIG configs

         o  ConvertWM         - convert users' waiting mail files

         o  ConvertNewScan    - convert users' global newscan files

 9.   Run the following programs:

         o  ConvertTemplate   - convert user templates

         o  ConvertUser       - convert user data files

10.   Run the following program to upgrade your handler.

         o  Update

11.   Run the following program *IF* you have been using EmacsDLG. This will
      convert EmacsDLG configs to ScreenEdit 2.0 configs (old configs will be
      unmolested)

         o  ConvertEmacs

12.   If you use an 030 or better (or an 020 with an MMU and FPU), copy
      libs/dlg.library_68030 to LIBS:dlg.library.  Otherwise, copy
      libs/dlg.library_any to ligs:dlg.library.

13.   Copy the contents of this archive's DLGConfig directory to your
      DLGConfig: directory.

14.   Copy the contents of the this archive's DLG directory to your
      DLG: directory.

15.   Copy the contents of this archive's FIDO direoctory to your
      FIDO: directory.

16.   Copy the contents of this archive's DLGConfig direoctory to your
      DLGConfig: directory.

17.   Take a DEEP breath.

18.   Reboot and restart the BBS.  The old V1.2.4 splash screen will be
      seen, but it will display a V1.25 info string at the bottom.

19.   Log in and test things out. Be sure to read the docs!
