Short : C-Net Pfile Graphic Maze Game like Pac-Man Shareware Fee: None (Just send me E-Mail telling me if you like it or not.) Creator : DangerX Author : DangerX :) Requirements : C-NET Amiga 3 or better, 14.4 Modem. Email Address: danger@ctol.net Web Address : http://www.ctol.net/~danger/index.html Aminet : comm/cnet GAME INTRO: Your a little dude(ansi character) that goes around a maze, collecting gold coins, while avoiding the poisonous spider. The spider is fairly intelligent and will come after you. Collect all the gold coins on a level to advance to the next level. Advancing levels also gains you extra lives.(you start with 3). Each coin collected is worth 1 point. The goal?? Get the highest score you possibly can! SOME NOTES: Game saves Top-Ten Scores, Uses alot of Ansi Graphics. Not recommended for systems running at less than 14.4kbps(14.4 is the min. I would recommend for playing the game..) Users should have 80x23 Screens at a min.(if they have less, the graphics will become a mess!) I've tested this remotely using Z-TERM on a Macintosh & ProComm95 on an IBM. Both programs were able to view & play the game with no problems. HyperTerm(that cheap thing that comes with Win95...Really sucks for anything ansi, really doesn't work well with this game. MORE STUFF TO READ: Should work on all OS Versions that can run C-NET Arexx Pfiles. Tested on OS 3.1. However, I really don't know as I don't run a C-NET BBS. I just like to write the games & stuff. Originally I was going to have 2 spiders go after the player but because I don't know C I was unable to get the program to run fast enough..(It's slow enough with just one spider..) so Insted of 2, I've made 1 SMART spider...which still keeps it very challenging. so I hope there's no bugs in it, if you find any, let me know via Internet E-Mail. INSTALLATION: Create a Directory called "spiderlair" in your Pfiles: Area example: PFILES:spiderlair/ copy all the files into the PFILES:spiderlair/ folder. The program will make the hi-score file, so you won't have to worry about making that or not having one. ADDING SPIDER'S LAIR TO YOUR PFILES AREA: Adopt Orphan as an Arexx Pfile. It should work on multiple ports at the same time, but I'm unsure as I don't run a multi-port system, In Fact, I don't even run a C-Net BBS at this time. I will be buying C-NET 4 in the very near future and will offer more and better games at that time. I do use commands that may cause slowing down on multi-port systems as well, So if you notice it slowing your BBS down to a crawl, you might want to remove this program from your system, or make it exclusive to one port at a time. Disable More? Prompting It can be made available to all age groups as it contains no adult materials, or extreme violence. THE FINE PRINT: This Program may be included in CD archives & AmiNet, it may not be altered and re-distributed. It may be altered by the Sysop running the program for use on his/her system. You may look at the code and get ideas for your own programs, you may even use parts of the code for your own programs if you so wish. (this code is extremely sloppy, as I am not a professional programmer.) This Program MAY NOT be converted for use on other BBS programs without my Written Permission. This Program may not be converted Cross-Platform without my Written Permission. ADDITIONAL NOTES: This game may run TOO FAST on a 68040 mac in local mode.(too Fast?) yup. That means you won't have a chance against the spider as this game is played in REAL TIME.
