You may wonder "Isn't there a Maintenance command for that?". Yes it is, but with C/Flags you can change those flags very quick & easy without using CNet's VDE. ...requirements --. - - ----------------------------------------------------------------------' C/Flags requires OS 2.1+ and at least 64kB free memory. C/Flags was developed using CNet 4.56 but it also runs with older version, including CNet/3. (Really, it has been tested!) ...installation --. - - ----------------------------------------------------------------------' First copy all files from the archive into one directory on your system. (eg. "PFiles:1oo/Flags/") Then copy "Flags.help" to "CNet:Systext/". C/Flags now supports CNet style keywords. Read the help text for more information about it! Then load your BBSMENU(s) into a texteditor and add the following lines at the BOTTOM of "The new Message/File Area" (CNet/4) or "UD/Base command prompt" (CNet/3), the "Browse" and "Response or Pass?" menus. FLAgs `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags}| FREEdown `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags FREE}| FAVorite `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags FAVORITE}| OFFLine `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags OFFLINE}| INTegrity `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags INTEGRITY}| VIRus `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags VIRUS}| ASCiigrab `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags ASCII}| INCDL `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags INCDL}| REName `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags RENAME}| Note: the entries at the "Response or Pass"? menu must have the addition argument "RP": FREEdown `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags FREE RP}| FAVorite `30-31 |#2PFiles:1oo/Flags/Flags FAVORITE RP}| [... and so on ...] C/Flags' arguments: FREE - sets/clears the "free download" flag FAVORTIE - sets/clears the "sysop's favorite" flag OFFLINE - sets/clears the "file is offliune" flag INTEGRITY - sets the "integrity check" to "passed" or "not tested" VIRUS - some thing as above ASCII - sets/clears the "ascii grab when read" flags INCDL - increases the download counter RENAME - prompts for a new filename -- RP - signal C/Flags that it was launched at a response prompt. ...usage --. - - ----------------------------------------------------------------------' Use C/Flags like any other CNet command that's purpose is handling files. Like the "browse" command you can call C/Flags with CNet style item ranges and (DOS) wildcards. Examples: Free 1,3,9-20,*.lha With this call C/Flags would change the "free download" flag of the items 1, 3, the items 9 to 20 and also every item that is a LhA archive. Asc *.txt C/Flags would change the "ascii grab when read" flag of all textfiles. This is pretty nice because users may now simple "read" the text for getting it's contents instead of "grabbing" it. Fav all Guess what, C/Flags would switch the "sysop's favorite" flag of EVERY item in the current subboard. For more examples, check out the "Flags.help" file, which should be located at "CNet:Systext/". If you start "Flags" without any arguments (like FREE, FAVORITE etc.) you will get a menu from where you can change more than one flag. This menu should look like this: .-- - 1oo% C/Flags v1.30 written by Devil/1oo% `----------------------------------------- - - File: () [01] Free Download : No [02] SysOp's Favorite: No [03] Offline : No [04] Test Status : Passed [05] Viruschecked : No [06] Ascii grab/ read: No [--] [07] Rename Files(s) [08] Increase DL Counter(s) Enter number(s) to change [CR=quit]: 1-3,6 Flag: Free Download... set! () Flag: SysOp's Favorite... set! () Flag: Offline... set! () Flag: Ascii grab/ read... set! () ...history --. - - ----------------------------------------------------------------------' Changes/Fixes Date: v1.0 initial version 26-Apr-97 v1.1 the additional options of increasing the download 09-Feb-98 counter and renaming items v1.12 rewritten function for converting CNet-style ranges with 23-Feb-98 support of wildcards. Final code decreased by about 3kB. :) v1.13 bugfix for the rename option when using multiple 24-Feb-98 partitions. v1.14 fixed another bug in the rename-function 28-Feb-98 v1.20 C/Flags now automatically loads unloaded items into 14-Jun-98 memory. No more lame [S]can, [B]rowse or whatever befor flagging on. v1.21 Internal fixes. If started without args C/Flags asks for 15-Jun-98 input like "Browse" etc. "all" is now a possible arg. "all" is similar to "*" or "#?". v1.22 Significant speed increase in the internal item loading 16-Jun-98 function! v1.30 Fixed a fatal buf in the internal item loader. 02-Jul-98 (Did anyone noticed that bug? I don't think so...) Added CNet style keyword support. _ ...how the hell can I contact this Devil? --. .--- - --\/-- - ----------------------------------------------------------' | (email) | (coco-net) | <7091602> _ (ICQ) `------ - - "http://p-lost.home.ml.org" - - -------------- --\/-- --- - - ...get in touch with 1oo% --. - - -----------------------------------------------------------------------' If you like and use this program, or if you have suggestions of what could be added or done better, send email, call us, just please don't keep your feedback a secret!
