This is an information archive on the features of the Trion BBS system.

(previously known as the Tron BBS system)

It contains a feature list with all the features which are implemented
at this very moment and some screen grabs with some explanation
what is shown in the screen grabs.

Trion BBS system V1.10 will be available from aminet and our
   website in April 1998.

   ======(  Intro  )=====================================================

The Trion BBS system is a multi line BBS package offered to
you under the concepts of ShareWare.
It has Echomail capabilities and has a built in mailer to
call other BBS system to send or collect mail.
It can be controlled from dos by scripts and a cron utility.
It can run doors and display RIPscrip graphics locally.
It uses it's own code to handle GUI's dynamically.

The Trion BBS system will work on every Amiga computer
with AmigaDOS Release 2 or higher.

   ======(  License  )===================================================

Trion is offered to you under the concepts of ShareWare. You can use
it for an evaluation period of up to 30 days without paying any charge.
If you are going to use Trion after the evaluation period, you should
register. (which means that if you continue to use it you'll have to
pay for it) If you register you will recieve a full working version,
which is registered to you personally.

The unregistered version (V1.10) has a few limitations.
A remote user can only call 3 times a day for a total
of 30 minutes. He can write 3 messages a day.
He can download 1 Mbyte a day in a maximum of 5 files.

In the registered version these limits are removed.

The registering fee is Dfl 120,--
(120 Dutch guilders, which is about $ 60 US Dollars on 10 juli 1997)
(See the docs in the release archive for more details)

   ======(  Pictures  )==================================================

About the screen grabs in this archive :

      TrionRM_WB.IFF

This is a picture of the monitor in the resource manager,
it shows the running nodes, lastcallers (including a lastcallers
graph), resource statistics, and has buttons to control a lot
of things. This picture is taken over the workbench including the
      Trion scheduler.

      TrionRM_PS.IFF

This is an other picture of the monitor of the resource manager
but now on it's public screen.
Trion BBS uses it's own small and fast code to render and
handle GUI's dynamically, so you don't need external products
      like MUI.
This code makes it possible to resize windows, and makes
the GUI's font insensitive. Fonts, screendepth, screensize,
      screentype and colors are configurable.
On this picture there are 3 bitplanes configured instead of
2 on the workbench screen so extra colors are uses to make
active elements clearer. Because the GUI is dynamic .. you can
configure it to fill the screen by using a bigger fonts or
      more lastcallers on the screen.

Note that all of the Trion GUI-programms open there windows
on the TrionRM public screen instead of the workbench screen
(or other default public screen) if it is open, and use the
same bitplane, color and font parameters.

      BBSNode.IFF

This is a picture of a DeIconized BBS node between answering
      calls.

      AttenMisc.IFF

This is a picture of the Attention Viewer and the MiscGUI
      program.
The Attention Viewer is a program to show what exactly
happens in scripts. I can be started and stoped in from
a script .. or manually be started.
The MiscGUI program is a fully configurable program
and scripts starter. All the things you do in a shell
you can place under a button.

      RIPScrip.IFF

The Trion BBS system supports RIPScrip BBS graphics up
      to RIPScrip version 1.54

      ClickIt.IFF

This is a picture of the GUI windows to handle commands, logs,
      and configurations.
Note that both windows at the left side are GUI windows to
handle log .. but the bottom one has a larger window.

      Maint.IFF

This is a picture of the maintenance monitor, this window shows
things that need attention like newfiles, new users, problems
with mail packets and areas etc...
When you click on a file the file editor is loaded with the
file in it, if you click on a user the user editor is loaded
      with the user in it.

      MailEd1.IFF MailEd2.IFF MailEd3.IFF

These are pictures of the Trion BBS echomail feed editor.

      UserEd1.IFF UserEd2.IFF UserEd3.IFF UserEd4.IFF

These are pictures of the Trion BBS offline GUI UserEditor.

      FileEd1.IFF FileEd2.IFF FileEd3.IFF

These are pictures of the Trion BBS offline GUI FileEditor.
