NewTrimNews v1.0 7th December 1996 NewTrimNews is a replacement for the Trimnews utility used with Usenet news feeds via UUCP, NNTPxfer or similar. It is considerably smaller and faster than the old version. ---------------------------------------------- Usage ~~~~~ NewTrimNews has five simple arguments; FILE, DRIVE, DAYS, ALL, NOLOG FILE - This is a text file containing the list of newsgroups to trim, one entry per line. After the name of the newsgroup is the number of days that messages are to be kept. If no number is present, then a default of 30 days will be used. Normally UULib:Newsgroups DRIVE - This is the drive/path where the newsgroups are stored. If no drive is specified, then the current directory will be used Normally UUNews: DAYS - If a number is specified for this option, then this will be the cutoff point in days for articles. Any expire lengths in the FILE will be ignored. ALL - This causes NewTrimNews to ignore the date checking function and delete all news articles. NOLOG - Normally, NewTrimNews outputs results as it goes. This option turns off the reporting of this information. ---------------------------------------------- History ~~~~~~~ 1.0 - Initial Release (7-Dec-96) ---------------------------------------------- Notes ~~~~~ #include I am very bad at writing documentation for my programs. I know how they work because I wrote them. Putting how they work into words is something I have always found difficult. If you have any problems, please feel free to contact me.
