NAME CasioBackup - used for backup data from CasioDiary SF series CasioRestore - the other side, restores to CasioDiary SYNOPSIS CasioBackup DATAFILE=TO/K,BAUDRATE=BD/N,PARITY/K,WORDLEN/N,SERNAME/K,SERUNIT/K,VERBOSE/S CasioRestore DATAFILE=FROM/K,BAUDRATE=BD/N,PARITY/K,WORDLEN/N,SERNAME/K,SERUNIT/K,VERBOSE/S FUNCTION CasioBackup transfers data from CasioDiary to Amiga file, plain 7-bit style, shell and Workbench usable, may be pluged in reminding programs or event handling tools. CasioRestore put data to other direction. Transfer modes can be: - single record by timeout - modus data and all data transfer via end transmission field (will be saved too) NOTES This is a premeliary version of an future GUI program used for transmission only. It was neccessary to program after losing some important client addresses within a Casio SF 5300B and CSF 7950. Author worked as promotor for Casio Diaries and developed this as a service for customers without PC clownes. Program is set to freeware from beginning, make sure to distribute unchanged .lha package within documention and preamble .readme. No guarantee of any kind is given that program described in this document are 100% reliable. You are using this tools on your own risk. If usefull for you, tell me which features a future GUI program should own, I exspect something concret remarks like "should support XY-reminding tool..." etc. If I get no response, I use my time for other things. Definitly it will include following: - edit, synchronising and deleting function - import/export functions for (tabulator- and semicolon-seperated fields) in data mode - import/export function for Reminder V6.0 from Ebbe H.Petersen INPUTS CasioBackup: DATAFILE=TO/K - name of datafile, if not set, default value "CasioSF.backup" is used BAUDRATE=BD/N - default is set to 9600, make sure to use valid numbers (4800,9600) PARITY/K - only first letter will be registered, ie. "E"(ven)/"G"(erade), "O"(dd)/"U"ngerade or "N"(one)/"K"(eine), standard set to "N" WORDLEN/N - default 8, may be set to 7 SERNAME/K - normaly searchs for "serial.device", unit 0, may be changed SERUNIT/N - see above VERBOSE/S - some more or less usefull informations CasioRestore: DATAFILE=FROM/K - datafile name to read Other options are the same as backup tool options. Additional option on Workbench using with CONWIN tooltype available, used for error and informational output and can set to 'NIL:' if necessary RESULTS Only two error messages are shown, consult ninji@galileo.rhein.de or wolf@ira.uka.de for more informations, but try first to solve by yourself. Output with VERBOSE option will bring some results, if unknown and you own enough time, send a example record. Be sure we check it out and include new features. Datafile is saved as data stream as got from given device, ie. 7-bit readable half nibble :-). Don't forget: CasioSF only sends either open or password protected area; if you need a full backup, tranfer both into two seperated files. BUGS Starting tools twice at same times causes crash - I'm working on it (maybe :-). ... comes from you.
