EDPWhoBan.DOC

This program will allow users to have up to 10 who banners in a list,
and choose from the list for their actual who banner! It also will
colorize their banner, in a SAFE way, to make sure that NOTHING other
than a color command ends up in the banner. My first version of this
program sent the user into the editor to do thier list. That was fine,
until they started putting kolorific and beeps in there. (aarrrgh!) hehe
This Program NOW adds the color FOR them, there is nowhere in the program
that the user can enter any MCI commands.

They can edit, pick one manually. or pick one at random.

Suggested command installation:

Put the program somewhere in Pfiles. (duh)

Add these commands to your BBS menu:

     NEWB | {#0 Pfiles:Rexx/EDPwhoban.rexx}
             \
              Control Q of course, and your path.

This command brings up their list, and asks them which one they
want to change to, or if they want to pick one at random. Then it
changes their who banner. Simple!


     RBAN | {#0 Pfiles:Rexx/EDPwhoban.rexx RAND}
                   \
                    Control Q of course and your path.

This command brings up no prompt, put in in case there are those who
want a logon macro to change their banner. It will pick one at random
from the list, and change their banner, outputting the result, then
quietly exit.

The program first checks to see if the user has the priv flag for using
and editing who banners. If they do NOT have that priv flag set, the
program will tell them they cannot edit their who banner, and exit.

There are numerous error checking routines built in to make sure the
program will not hang, so please let me know if you have problems,
requests, whatever.

NOTE:
For better looking output, it is a GOOD idea, to go to
line # 904 in BBSTEXT, and add the following:

Original: \c5                                     %s\n1

Change to:\c5                                     %s\q1\n1

Just add the \q1 to cancel the color used in the banner. This will
make sure, especially if you don't have your stock who customized much,
that the colors in the banner will not colorize anything else in the display.


Oh, I am not responsible if the program becomes sentient and decides to
mess up your head or your computer. It won't anyway!
