Foundation Home Page - 6th March 1997 This is a copy of an on-line page at http://www.sneech.demon.co.uk/foundation.html Intoduction Foundation is a new real-time strategy wargame for the Amiga. The game will mix the styles of The Settlers, WarCraft II, Command & Conquer and Mega-lo-Mania together with many new original ideas. The project is now half complete and the game is starting to evolve into something realy special. Please don't send emails asking for demo's, beta testing, specific release dates, CyberGFX or ECS support. I already get huge numbers of emails asking these same questions and I've already provided you with all the info that is available. The final version will not be available until September 1997 at the very earliest. Any more info will be shown here as soon as it is available. If you just want to email me with moral support then please do. Possible features:- I will do all I can to ensure CyberGFX support but it will all depend on how easy it is to impliment without owning a GFX board and CyberGFX. I have already had many emails pleading for CyberGFX support so I will do my best. I am considering Serial Link modes and also TCP/IP link modes but since I'm currently working on the game by myself, I have limits to the amount of extra features I can add. I will do my best to provide GFX board support. Development:- The above ideas will change while the game is developed but I can assure you that these features are only a small taster of what is to come. Please contact me if you have any ideas that you think I could consider for the game. I have already talked to many interesting people who have given me lots of kind support. Foundation Map Editor The Map editor for the game is no longer available on this page for the following reasons:- * It no longer does the game justice since the project has progressed so much. * Too many people thought the Map Editor was a demo of the game. * Many people thought the Map Editor was some sort of indication of the progress of the game development. * The "map file format" has changed. * I expect to release a new Map editor for people to play around with soon. * The screenshots that are on this page and the Foundation Snapshots Page (Local)give a much better idea of the games features/progress. * The Map editor is still available on Aminet in the directory game/misc with the file name "FoundationEd.lha". If you haven't seen it already then take a look at it but consider it an early pre-game experiment. Goodbye for now:- Thank you for taking the time to view this page. I'm sorry I don't have the time to update this page too often. If you want the most up to date pictures of the game then you should keep a look out on my personal [http://www.sneech.demon.co.uk/snapshots.html] Foundation Snapshots Page where the pictures should never be more than 2 weeks old.
