        GavDocks V1.0 - Introduction

  What?

    GavDocks is a collection of dock icons for users of non-interlaced
workbenches.  They are designed in the default 8 colour palette.

  Why?

    Well, I wanted to have some nice docks on my workbench, but I didn't find
any that I liked on Aminet.  The collections I found were either designed for
interlaced screens, or weren't complete sets.  So I designed as many as I
could think of, with a heavy bias towards Internet and Web icons.

    And now the set has grown to the point where I want some feedback
from people. So I'm releasing it.
    Get in touch if you have ANY feedback at all.

        GavDocks V1.0 - Installation

  How?

    Just double click the Install_Icons icon and you're away.

    Installation uses Commorore's standard installer, so make sure you have
that in your path.
    An assign will be added to your user-startup script to ease your finding
of the icons.

    Removal is by the same script.

        GavDocks V1.0 - Requirements

  What?

    The icons only require a non-interlaced (or double height pixel)
screenmode and the first eight colours are the default eight.  The defaul
colours can be set from the Palette preferences program.
    Viewing the icons from Workbench requires multiview, but since the
Workbench icons are the same as the dock icons you shouldn't need to bother.

  How?

    If you should ever want to remove the icons, this can be carried out by
the Install_Icons script.

    Installation is carried out by the same script.

        GavDocks V1.0 - Further Work

  What?

    Well that's where you come in. What more do you want from GavDocks?  Are
there any utilities you want icons for?  Do you want more general purpose
icons?
    
    Get in touch if you have any requests.

    Also I have an icon collection for Workbench out, called Laceless.  It
provides IconDrawers for 4 colour non-interlaced Workbenches.  It's on Aminet
in pix/icons so look out for it.

        GavDocks V1.0 - Copyright Information

    GavDocks is Email-ware. Send me an email if you use GavDocks, also put an
example Worbench on Aminet, there's FAR too many interlaced examples on there
:-).
    Gifts are welcome, but not necessary, I didn't do this for money, just to
make my Workbench look better :-).

    The GavDocks icons are mostly my own work, exceptions are the AWeb,
Ibrowse, Shell and TKG icons, which are based on the existing Workbench icons
for those programs.  However I adapted them into the standard GavDocks layout
and the default colours, so GavIcons is copyright Gavin Dodds 1997.

    Permission is granted for inclusion in ANY form of distribution, as long
as my copyright is respected and the GavDocks Dock Icon Set is mentioned in
the documentation. I'd also like to have an email informing me of which
packages include GavDocks dock icons. There should be no ADDITIONAL cost to
the user for the inclusion of any GavDocks dock icons, however normal charges
may be made.

    I would especially like to hear from any magazines that use GavDocks dock
Icons on their cover disks/CDs.
