It's pretty original, not least because the speeded-up voice is Subi himself and it's his own lyrics. Oh, and "the animal is back" figures in the words because the tune was construkted when Subi and I were in Desire. And that's their slogan. Sorted. Oh, and I think the main break is from Prodigy "One Love", isn't it? When Mono started up, the idea, from my point of view, was to spread the tunes of a lot of 'elektronik' musicians I knew who just weren't getting as well-known or listened to as I thought they should be. And to have lots of fun in the process. So I really pushed Mono hard, looking for dist sites, publicising as much as I could, etc.. but I think that was a little arrogant of me, and a little over the top. The scene really isn't used to that kind of self-publicising. Having said that, it's obviously worked - someone told me on IRC yesterday that he thinks Mono stuff gets spread _too_ much. But on the other hand, I think a lot of people wonder if Mono isn't too hard-nosed and commercial. I've accomplished my objective - I've got plenty of people listening to music of the people I respect. So I'm going to sit back, not push the group as much, but keep releasing and efficiently. Friendship's the key. And I wonder if Mono might have become just as 'well known' even if I hadn't been so aggressive, marketing-wise? :) Oh well.
