*** EasyAmiTCP script V1.00 *** Introduction : This archive contains some nice icons and scripts to handle AmiTCP and the most common Amiga browsers. This archive requires the following to be of any use : CLIEXE.LHA - in the util/wb directory of Aminet PUBSUTILS2.LHA - "" util/wb "" "" "" AmiTCP ;-) Installation : Put these icons wherever you like. It dosen't matter where. CLIEXE must be a directory in the current path somewhere. All of your browsers must be in subdirectories of INTERNET: i.e. to use AWeb, it must be in the directory INTERNET:AWEB/ , for IBrowse INTERNET:IBROWSE and so on. The ftp icon tries the file AmiTCP:bin/gftp. Modify this in the tooltypes if yours is somewhere else. The ALynx icon looks of it in the C: directory. Again, modify the tooltypes if it's somewhere else. For more details on how to change the scripts, consult the CLIEXE documentation. Usage : Simple enough - click on them to start! STARTNET calls AmiTCP:bin/startnet STOPNET calls AmiTCP:bin/stopnet STARTLOCAL calls AmiTCP:AmiTCP - this allows things like ALynx and AMosaic to be used offline. Notes : The icons are 8-colour and the palette is from my modified Workbench palette. I changed the yellow for another (darker) blue. The yellow in the checkmark is a dithered green/red (which gives yellow on my old 15KHz monitor). I drew the checkmark and used ADPro, PPaint and Iconian to scale the AWeb, Voyager and IBrowse icons down and put them in. The otehrs are simple ones I drew myself. When I created these scripts I only meant them for myself. I don't know how well they will work outside of my hard disk. Because I use a 15KHz monitor, my Workbench is 650x256x8 colours. I get AWeb to open a 650x512x256 colour public screen and use a public screen command to force the other browsers onto it. It works for me. If you run your workbench at the resolution you like, remove the ScreenToFront command from the Voyager, IBrowse and AMosaic scripts. Legal stuff : These scripts and associated icons are mine. I wrote/drew them, and I still maintain copyright (where applicable). You are free to distribute and modify them, but you cannoy distribute a modified version. You can freely use a modified version. I do not offer any warranty on these items, so any problems you may encounter while using them are not my responsibility. Author : I am an ex-high-school-soon-to-be-university student. I like the Amiga and have been using it ever since the A500, and my setup is now a 1200 with 14Mb RAM, 650Mb HD and a 50Mhz '030. Quite a step from my old 1/3Mb 500. E-mail me at : thomas_neill@metnet.demon.co.uk but keep messages small. I chack mail by telnet and it is slooowww. If you want to send me a big message or file, warn me a couple of days in advance! Blatant plug : Do you like manga? Read Appleseed? Then why not go to the pix/art directory of Aminet and download the files APPLESEEDCOLOUR.LHA, DEUNAN.LHA and HITOMI.LHA. Do you use a dailup line for TCP access? Always wondering if you've been on for too long? The why noy go to the comm/tcp directory of Aminet and download the file NAG_ME.LHA. There we go, I'm done.
