V> View Current Advert This views the Current Advert (if there is one) and displays it. A> About Brings up the About screen displays a bit about the Program and Which BBS the program has been FREELY Registered to. Q> Return to the BBS Quit's the Editor Program, and returns you to the BBS. * Adding coloured text lines: ----------------------------- To add different colours to the display, use the guide on screen to get the desired colour, you must enter some text before you can get to enter a colour, or enter a SLASH DOT " /. " for a blank line (read below for more on the SLASH DOT) * centering the text: --------------------- To center the text in the final output file just follow the on screen instructions, there is also an on screen function for Normal (Dull) colours or Bold (Bright) colours... This was added on request... * To get a blank line using the DOT: ------------------------------------ Placing a SLASH DOT " /. " will cause the program to produce a blank line a SLASH DOT combined with other text like : " /. hello " or " /.hello " will not produce a blank line... Also you must Press return 3 times after you have entered your text... ie, don't enter any colours or try to center the text, just the return key needs to be pressed, you'll know when you have it right because the words blank line... will get printed to the screen... if you do make the mistake of entering the colour number or centering it then garbage will get printed instead of the correct stuff. The Words " blank line.... " should appear to state that it is one.... but the words will not be in the final output file. ;^) * Exit without saving file: --------------------------- To exit without saving the entered advert type " /Q or /q " at the start of any new line. Pressing return on a blank line brings up a Question asking if you want to save this data... @endnode @node "inst" "RentSpace Installation" Start out by first creating a directory in your DOORS: path called - RentSpace Copy archive contents into this directory..... Other files needed will be created by the program.... * Creating a menu function in MAX'sBBS like this for the Editor: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- key: Function: Extra Lo acc: Hi acc Filename/Name/Dest/Path: R 34 0 10000 10000 Doors:RentSpace/RentSpace --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Set this so only Sysop can access it, this is to stop callers from destroying current advertisements. This way a caller has to ask the sysop if he/she can leave an advert....... WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING The reason this Door is placed under SYSOP only control is because ALL auto inserts that MAX'sBBS translates are insertable ie %X = Forced Hangup which can be hazzardous to the next caller... however if a caller does add a %X they will be Disconnected... Because the program automatically adds Colour to the text and re-inserts the text, causeing the AutoInsert to Activate... Please try this using %f = callers full name... (^8 Enjoy the Programs @endnode @node "brif" "A Brief History" * A Brief History: ------------------ 1.0b Beta version sent to testers, Trial and error version. 1.2b Beta version sent to testers after bug in ANSI output file was fixed also fixed a bug in Main Editor screen which caused the program to lock up on occasion, also didn't Output 16 colour ANSI correctly, bug put aside until I get around to fixing it. Freeware version. 1.3 ** First Public Release ** HardCoded BBS name into the Program code, makes it Tamper Proof. Program will fail to work if HEXEdited... Updated the Editor so it is easier to read on all 8 colour ANSI displays. ANSI Bug Fixed - Now Outputs a 16 colour ANSI Advert file. Cleaned up the code a little, so as I might be able to understand my own coded material ;^) And it's still FREEWARE ;^) 1.3a Updated the program, found a few errors within my own code... also fixed a few ansi errors... these didn't effect the output in any way, but made the program look Ikky from a terminal... Added anti-lockup routine, supplyed by Randy Quick... 2.0b Update and Enhanced version Add an Option for the user to center the text in the output file via a Yes/No Question... Also added extra colours option for final output file... this too is under a Yes/No type question... Gave the Program an All purpose output file... thus not left with the Ugly 3D one it started life with... This new one is much nicer... Made the Editor screen less croweded... 2.1 Update and bug fix... yup found 1 little bug, well not actually a bug just an oversite... I missed the colour number 30 Dark Grey... replaced the DOT command with a SLASH DOT " /. " instead of just a DOT Yes, It still is Freeware... So go on Share it about Free of charge... @endnode
