Since Peter has decided to go the IBM route, I'll be attempting to "take on" the continued development of the files he has authored in the past. What Is It? ~~~~~~~~~~ This mod allows you to send the UPLOADER of a file you are considering [K]illing a piece of mail. Perhaps you DID kill/delete the file, and wish to send a message telling the uploader WHY the file was killed, or perhaps there's something WRONG with the file, and it MAY be killed shortly, unless the uploader does something(describes it, finishes uploading it, etc.) When you use the "K" command to kill a file, you'll first be asked if you wish the "post" killed, then you'll be asked if you wish to "Notify the Uploader". If you say YES, you'll see this programs menu, where you'll be able to choose from 5 pre-written messages, or create one of your own. How Do I Install It? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Copy the "FPBUM/" directory into your "FPFiles/" directory if you have one, or else copy the "FPFiles/FPBUM/" directory anywhere on your system. NOTE: All Dotoran released "FP" files will be stored in the "FPFiles/" directory, in order to make working with them a bit easier, so it is HIGHLY recommended that you do the same on your systems... 2. Load your BBSTEXT file into an editor, then add the following to the beginning of line 1830: (The following should be placed ON ONE LINE, and is broken into two lines below for readability purposes only!}: Notify uploader? [No]: \?0{T70 #1}{JN 1+} {#0FPFiles/FPBUM/FPBUM}{1} NOTE: Replace with the one you used in Step # 1 above. Change the one \ and four {'s into a Control-Y and Control-Q characters, and remember, the above should be placed ON ONE LINE before the text found on line 1830. ("Delete this File [Yes]?") 3. There are 5 text files included inside the "FPFiles/FPBUM/" directory that you may wish to edit further in one of CNet's editors. You can use CNet's WF command to edit these files. To make customizing these files a bit more powerful, you can include special ¹ keywords. The ¹ can be created by pressing ALT-1 on your keyboard. The following is a list of the available keywords that can be used: (case does NOT matter) KEYWORD: DESCRIPTION OF VALUE: ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ¹FILE Name of File. ¹AREA Filearea. (Subboard Name) ¹RFAC Credit removal factor. ¹BCRE Size of the file in Bytes. ¹FCRE Size of file in File Credits. ¹HAND Uploader's Handle. ¹NAME Uploader's Real Name. ¹BTOT Uploader's Total Byte Credits. ¹FTOT Uploader's Total File Credits. ¹BRAT Uploader's BYTE RATIO Default (#1) ¹FRAT Uploader's FILE RATIO Default (#1) ¹DATE Date file was Uploaded. ¹BBSN Your BBS's Name (from Config). Keywords will be translated before the mail is sent. If you opt to edit one of the pre-defined letters before it is sent, you'll see the actual data in place of the keywords. If you opt to "Create New Mail", without using one of the predefined letters, you should NOT use keywords in the text, as they will NOT be translated before being sent to the user's mailbox. 4. That's It! You can reload your BBSTEXT, and you'll be ready to use the FPBUM mod!
