Introduction:

Qrypt is a small utilitie for encrypting (and decrypting) any kind of files.




Installation:
-------------

Alterantive 1:

Drag the Qrypt drawer to some drawer on your HD, and add
this drawer to your path (add the line 'Path drive:path/Qrypt'
where 'drive:path/' is the path to that drawer. 


Alternative 2:

Just copy the file qrypt to any directory, prefereble in the path, ie. C:.
Copy this doc-file, qrypt.doc, and it's icon, qrypt.doc.info to any directory, 
for example some directory where you keep doc-files.  


Usage:
------

Qrypt can (curretly) only be used from CLI:

Type 'qrypt <filename> [password]'

where <filename> is the name of the file you wish to encrypt, and [password]
is the password whith whitch the file should be encrypted, the password can be 
ommitted and you will then be promted a filename whitch will only be showed 
as stars so that nobody can 'look over your shoulders'.
When encrypting a file-extension .cry will be added to the filename.
When uncrypting this extension will be stripped. The procedure for uncrypting 
a file is just like for encrypting.
The output file will be placed in the directory from whitch you assigned the 
qrypt command (unlike in version 1.0) so that you wan't have to copy files if
you wish to encrypt files to a diskette for tranfering between 2 Amigas, for
example. 

NOTE: In version 1.1 the encrypting algorithm has been made safer, type
'qrypt <filename> OLD' when decrypting files encrypted whith version 1.0.
