Madhouse is a modular screen saver like others. We tried to make the main program (the 'server') more configurable and to program nice blankers - here is the result, we hope you like it! Advantages / Features of Madhouse 2.1 - New in v2.0: Supports not only Madhouse-, but also Swaz- and Garshne-modules. Ever wanted to use both of them as they were of the same format? Was it difficult to decide between modular Screen Savers because of their modules? Madhouse can run and configure them. A little Import-procedure adapts them to Madhouse, out of their original distribution archives. This thing is NEW, I came to that idea as I saw how other authors of other mod. Screen Savers were looking for sourcecodes of blankers and ported them by hand to their own formats. So try it out and download the Swaz- and Garshne-archive, too. > New in v2.1: support of Blitzblanker modules. Swaz import does now work with the new Swazblanker 2.40. > Screenmode selection possible for some of the blankers. (v2.1) > New blanker `Worldtime' (v2.1) - New blanker `Snow' (since v1.2) - New in 2.01: nice blanker list, new blanker "Flow" and a bugfix. - New blanker `Nautic' (v2.0), AGA only. - Full modular. It's easy to write new blankers, you can use every language. - Dimmer included, which does not only dimm to grey, but also to a color (ever seen your WB shining blue?) > Dimmer has preview field for color 0 of your workbench (v2.1) - `Immediate Edges' can be defined on the screen, for immediate dimming/ blanking if the mouse pointer is on them. - Needs little memory. - Some blankers are NOT included in this release, because AMOS made troubles with MUI 3.1. If you don't use the new MUI version, take a look at the archive MadAMOS.lha in util/blank (where you can find the old blankers). - Some wonderful blankers. All are based on inovative ideas, or an old ideas with new functions. The well-known Stars are zooming, rotating and shifting through space. The FlyingToasters were not drawn in two colors, but in 16 hires-laced and are near to the AfterDark-ones. The Soccer blanker shows you a soccer game. Included are also blankers which don't waste CPU performance. Please look at all of them yourself! - can play sound mods while blanking, with the help of DeliTracker or medplayer.library - Intelligent Random function: remembers how often a blanker was shown already, and selects one that wasn't shown that often. - a background program ("Madhouse") and a config editor ("MadhouseConfig- Ed"). Madhouse itself has no graphical interface and controls the whole system, starts blankers and starts the MadhouseConfigEd. Only MadhouseConfigEd uses MUI (© Stefan Stunz). That's why Madhouse needs little memory. - CPU sensitive. If your computer is doing a complex calculation (e.g. compiling or raytracing), Madhouse runs no blanker at all or a blanker that uses nearly no CPU performance. - If you want Madhouse to change the blankers while blanking, you can set the Duration of every blanker seperately. - a comprehensive documentation, explaining every detail of Madhouse, the ConfigEd and the blankers. The doc includes a description how to write an own blanker (this can be done in EVERY programming language!). - Install and Remove script. (v2.1) - Auf dem Screen können `heiße Ecken' definiert werden; wenn der Maus- zeiger darauffährt, kann sofort gedimmt/geblankt werden. - Benötigt wenig Speicher. - Einige Blanker sind in diesem Archiv nicht mehr vorhanden, da es Pro- bleme mit AMOS und MUI 3.1 gab. Wer nicht das neue MUI 3.1 benutzt, kann mal einen Blick auf MadAMOS.lha werfen, dort sind noch die alten Blanker vorhanden. - Einige wunderschöne Blanker, teils alte Ideen mit neuen Features, teils völlig innovativ und neu. Die bekannten Stars rotieren, zoomen und fliegen Kurven, die fliegenden Toasters sind 16-farbig und kommen denen aus AfterDark nahe. Auch ein Fußballspiel zum zusehen ist vorhanden! Außerdem sind Blanker dabei, die den Computer kaum beanspruchen. - Kann Soundmodule beim Blanken abspielen, in Verbindung mit DeliTracker oder der medplayer.library. - Intelligente Zufallsfunktion: die merkt sich, wie oft ein Blanker schon gezeigt wurde, und wählt einen aus, der noch nicht so oft zu sehen war. - Das Hintergrund-Programm "Madhouse" und der Einstellungseditor "MadhouseConfigEd". Madhouse selbst hat so gut wie keine graphische Oberfläche, steuert das gesamte System und startet die Blanker. Der MadhouseConfigEd nutzt MUI (© Stefan Stunz). Deshalb benötigt Mad- house im Hintergrund auch so wenig Speicher. - CPU sensitiv. Wenn Euer Computer etwas berechnet (z.B. ein Raytracing- Bild oder er compiliert gerade), startet Madhouse nur einen Blanker, der die CPU kaum benötigt oder zeigt nur einen schwarzen Schirm. - Wenn die Blanker beim Blanken gewechselt werden sollen, kann die An- zeigedauer für jeden Blanker separat eingestellt werden. - eine ausführliche Anleitung, die jedes Detail erläutert - auch, wie man selbst Blanker erstellen kann, dies kann in jeder Programmier- sprache geschehen! - einen madhouse.catalog, damit die Bildschirmtexte ab OS 2.1 auf deutsch erscheinen. - Installations- (Install-) und Entfernungs- (Remove-) Script für den Commodore Installer.
