StarAm Plan Version 2.03b The program »StarAm Plan« version 2.03b needs to start at least: Amiga with AmigaOS 3.0 (version 39), 850KB FREE RAM, 1 floppy drive I don't believe, that you can really work with this configuration. So I recommend: Amiga with 68020 CPU, 68881 FPU, 2MB FAST RAM, 3MB free space on harddisk, AA-Chipset or graphics accelerator, AmigaOS 3.0 »StarAm Plan« has been developed on an Amiga 4000/040 with Cybervision 64 and AmigaOS 3.0. »StarAm Plan« is shareware. Read the license carefully! LICENSE »StarAm Plan« and all files belonged to it are Copyright © 1991-96 by Thorsten Passow. 1. The program and all files belonged to it may freely duplicated. 2. Neither the program nor the manual, the files »StarAm Plan.dvi«, »StarAm_Plan.cd« or »Copyright.info« may be changed, translated or adapt to other hardware. Other files may changed for your own private use. 3. Translating of the files »StarAm_PlanGB.ct« and »Catalogs/English/StarAm_Plan.catalog« and spreading of the translated files are desired as long as the translated files are placed in the public domain and I get a copy. 4. Distributing the program is allowed as long as all files belonged to it are unchanged in one directory together and the distribution is free of charge. You may archieve the files with an archiever like »lha« or »zoo«, but all files must be in the same archieve! 5. SUPPORT 1. Everybody who has paid the share will be registered as user. Registered users who fulfill the conditions described at the 2nd item gets up to two free »small« updates automatically. A user who has got two updates must send me a sufficient stamped envelope for each additional update (or the money, when you don't have stamps from the Deutsche Post AG!). »Small« updates, are updates, without increased share. With »big« updates the share is increased. A registered user who fulfill the conditions described at the 2nd item will be informed about the new version, as long as he hasn't got two updates. He'll get the update after I've got the difference between the new and old share. After two updates the user must send me a sufficient stamped envelope or postcard for each informing about a new »big« update (or the money, when you don't have stamps from the Deutsche Post AG!). Bug removing updates to identify by the character behind the version number are only sent if you explicit request them or in the case of item 4. 2. Only registered user who lives in Germany or another country for which the Deutsche Post AG wants to have the same postage as for letters which are sent within Germany gets update delivery and informations about »big« updates. If this conditions aren't fulfilled, the user must send me sufficent postage (in DM (german marks) or stamps of the Deutsche Post AG) for each update or information about a »big« update. 3. I'm very interested in suggestions. They should be so detailed as possible because I want to understand correct what you want. I'll try to take into account your wishes. 4. I'm very interested in bug reports, too. They should describe the way to produce the error exactly, so that I'm be able to reproduce it. If you are registered user, fulfill the conditions described under 2. and I could remove the bug because of your bug report then you'll get the version without the bug free of charge. To register you can use the file »Register« (print out, fill out and send to me with DM 30). You haven't to use this form because I like also formless registrations. If you don't want the GERMAN update disks then you MUST tell me at least one available language which you prefer. You also should tell me your own language if I get a catalog file of your language! I accept suggestions and bug reports from not registered users. But don't expect anything by me! This is the first localized version of »StarAm Plan«. At the moment there are the languages german (build in language) and english (catalog file)available. If your language is not available und you don't want that »StarAm Plan« uses german you must select the (available) language »StarAm Plan« shall use in the preferences editor »Locale« of the workbench after your own language. Example: Your language is french and you want that »StarAm Plan« uses the english catalog. In the listview »preferred languages« you must have first »Français« and second »English«. All programs with a french catalog then will use french, all other english. If you want to translate »StarAm_Plan.catalog« into another language, feel free to do so, as long as you place your translated »StarAm_Plan.catalog« in the »Public Domain« and send a copy to me. You can use »StarAm_PlanGB.ct« when you don't understand the original german texts in »StarAm_Plan.cd«. Don't ignore the maximum lengths in »StarAm_Plan.cd«! Notice the spaces at the end of lines (Disable an option in your editor which kills spaces at the end of lines!)! I know that my english translation is bad. So if you find any funny or simple wrong translations in »StarAm_PlanGB.ct« respectively »StarAm_Plan.catalog« please correct them and send the corrected file to me. Thank you. »StarAm Plan« uses also the locale.library for the command »Edit/Sort« and the output of Dates (Worksheet/Print, cell format). The date formating of »StarAm Plan« is more complex than the »locale.library« allows. So »StarAm Plan« must interpret the two date strings of the locale.library. It could be that this interpretation don't give the correct result.»StarAm Plan« uses the short string if you select month as number else it uses the long string. If both strings are the same, the short string contains the name (or name abbr.) or the long string contains the number of the month the algorithm won't work. The strings mustn't contain the commands »%D«, »%r«, »%R«, »%T«, »%x« and »%X«, too. Relpace them by »%m/%d/%y«, »%I:%M:%S %p«, »%H:%M«, »%H:%M:%S«, »%m/%d/%y«, »%H:%M:%S«. You'll find the strings in »LOCALE:countrys/yourCountry.country«. When you use dates before 01-Jan-78, »StarAm Plan« must use its own algorithm because locale.library doesn't handle these dates. You get then german date format! At the moment the manual is in german only. It is very much work to translate the manual, so if only few register I won't translate the manual. It depence on you! If YOU want to translate the manual into english or another european language here are my conditions: - You mustn't translate the manual without my written and signed permission (email is not enough, because it is unsafe!). - The translated manual is Copyright © by Thorsten Passow (me) - I am the only one you give a copy of the translated manual to - You may insert a short text into the manual like: Translated into english by ... - If I get the translated manual until a date arranged before, you become registered user without paying the share. You will find additional information about »StarAm Plan« in »Bitte Lesen«, »Convert.dok« and »StarAm Plan.guide« (all german only). Known bugs: - When »Refresh« in the Requester to set the worksheet screen is not checked then the contents of the worksheet window will be damaged when another window is partly in front of the window and you scroll the worksheet (SimpleRefresh+ClipBlit problem). I won't remove this bug, because the scrolling would slow down. If there is ever the need to scroll the sheet while another window is in front then you must use »Ctrl-r«. If you have enough memory I recommend to check »Refresh«. - The connect lines in bar charts with 3D effect are damaged. - On Cybervision screens saving the chart as IFF ILBM and printing out the chart don't work. Use for these commands an ECS/AGA screen (in the needed size)! Future: - Activate the less memory needs of worksheets, after finding the bug. - localized gadget shortcuts, GadgetHelp for gadgetbar and others little things, intern improvements - Using "Formelsatz" (I couldn't find the translation) in strings of the charts and perhaps the tabular, too. - Better support of different resolution at charts (autom. adjust of the sizes of fonts, symbols, line lengths, ...) - perhaps print out tabular as graphics - if possible im-/export of Excel files - ARexx Port - further not known improvements No warranty that these will really translated into reality!
