1. INTRODUCTION

1A. Why Phone Book?

   Everytime you have to call a friend, a shop, etc... you have to find the
phone number (haven't you?). But as usually,you can't remember where you left
your Phone Book. So you have to spend time looking for it.
   And when you have to add a new number, or to modify an old one, you have
problems erasing numbers or names because you want to insert a new friend
betwen two already exsisting.
   Well, why shall you get crazy, if your Amiga can do it simply and quickly?
   You'll never lose your Phone Book, and to add or erase numbers, you have
just to digit a few.
   You're probably thinking that you've got hundreds of programs that do all
these things. Yeah: but with this one, you'll be able to let your Amiga call
the number.

1B. Why TPhone?

   Sometimes you need to dial some numbers using tones, but you don't own a
phone with dial tone (in which country do you live?). Or you have a long
number, and maybe you won't to digit it every time you need it.
   Well, TPhone'll do it for you!

2. USING THE PROGRAMS
---------------------

2A. Phone Book

   Simply call it from shell: you'll see its window with your names. Now
you can scroll the list (click in the <- -> keys) or call the number you
want (click in the > key near the name). Then you have the time to keep your
receiver near your amplifier and Amiga will call your number.
   If you don't want to call the numbers, you must run Phone Book with the
switch NOTONE. After selecting a number, Phone Book will wait for you to
close its window.
   NOTE that to call a number from Amiga, you need TPhone to be in your c:
directory.

2B. Configuring Phone Book

   Maybe you can't believe it, but Phone Book doesn't know your names and
numbers! So, before starting the program you have to edit a simply text file
in your s: directory, called "PhoneBook.DAT".
   Insert a name and its number for each line, like this:
Brown Tom
86.32.112
Joe's office
(224)12.34.21
   And you MUSN'T leave blank lines!
   You can change that file every time you need to change your list.

2C. The best way to call it

   You can leave Phone Book open during your activities, but I think it's
better to call it from the Tools Menu in the workbench, or better again, to
call it using a short-cut key. In order to do it, use a program like
Tool Manager (by Stefan Becker) or similar.
   That's why every time you call a number, Phone Book close its window!
And if you won't to tone up the number, it wait for you to close the window!
   In fact I think you will not need it during all the day!
   Phone Book has been written to look nice on a 640x512 screen, so if you
can, use this or higher resolution.

2D. TPhone

   To tone up a number, simply call TPhone giving the number. It can
understand also other letters and simbol. You can use:
   0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 a b c d * #

author's name or DOC files.
