MUSIC CONSTRUCTION _ Readme (english by Friedrich Schultz) Following text comes from Jimmy Clytch, founder of a group called MUSIC SYSTEM which is dedicated to pure computer music since the beginning of the year 1991. After some success in the eighties with the garage band CONSTRUCTION PLANT Clytch's flop with his hushed up 17-men-band UNDER CONSTRUCTION forced him to work as a broker at the Chicago Stock Exchange for the last 5 years or so. Nobody less than me would ever have expected him back again to this hard and wearing scene - but: hier he comes agian. And he asked me as his best friend to transfer his readme text into english, that's what I did. But allow me some word beforehand: You should skip the first paragraph - this is pure advertisement. Thence HOT DRIVE, MINODANCE and DELEASE are simple disco songs, that's for shure. But what about the scrap Clytch mentions about WOODBLOC ? Seems absolutely strange and unintelligible to me. Everybody knows that SONY and PHILIPS don't sell their tapes in Andromeda system and even if they did - nobody could ever listen to them since their Zrzql-tsh-3-norm would produce apple-sauce from our good old compact cassettes at best. It seems to me that Clytch tries just another of his rotty public relation tricks. The art-demoniacs from Andromeda naturally needed the swiss knife to lay down some stalks in the rye field in order to make the circle just perfect. You can admire some examples of this in the standard work "Kreisrunde Zeichen" by Delgado and Andrews at pages 139-144. Even worse his remark on his opus SNAPP7. Nice, he composed the piece by night while his TV crammed with CNN news form the Gulf war. But please - what has this to do with music ? He better should deny himself such senseless scrupulous political commentaries. Not one word about the somehow strange structure of this 7:47 minute song ? And who in the world is Husky ? We (I mean Walf, my sweet backyard and garage doggy and me) urgently hope that this problem may be solved next time. MUSIC CONSTRUCTION _ Readme (by Jimmy Clytch) This is a compilation of five music tracks composed by Jimmy Clytch in collaboration with the band MUSIC SYSTEM. These are short Demo Versions (total playing time now 16:31 min). The whole will be available soon as LP/MC/CD 395 293-1. Final mix using Atari TT, Roland V300, Aiwa TX 734, Sony Pro 44 DAT. Amiga Version assembled with FTM (Face the Music), THE music editor for the Amiga. All songs are fully synthetic, except WOODBLOC which was recorded live in Paris, 1979. HOT_DRIVE, MINO_DANCE and DELEASE are simple disco songs without any vocal tracks yet. MINO_DANCE uses C-minor chords which might be disgusting for some listeners. Don't worry - you still can use the disk as a good frisbee in your backyard. In DELEASE the rhythmic structure somehow ran out of control and never came back again and - I suppose - it WILL never come back. WOODBLOC will sound kind of old-fashioned to you and really: it is. Played at the legendary but still desastrous VersLeSoleil-concert in Paris, Oct. 12th 1979 at La Salle de deGaulle by the then so-called group CONSTRUCTION PLANT. ROBBING CRISTLE, PAIR UBE and the UNNYMOON KILLERS were with them. Great times these times. We sourly regret that most tapes from this concert were lost in that tragic car accident, when our van crashed into object TH-8975.322 which was drawing another circle in a rye field outside Nancy, France that night. Nothing serious happened to the driver Frank Whitney, accept he remembered having spent the night with Spiderwoman. That must be a joke since we all know that this girl had died at a serious lack of public attention in Hollywood 1932. Anyway - the tapes and a swiss army knife from underneath Frank's seat disappeared and probably now circulate in the Andromeda System, somewhere between Alpha Markab and Beta Scheat. Let me finish the story by affirming that this excellent and unique piece had been saved just because Frank had played the tape to his girlfriend Lauranne in Nykobing, Denmark via phone just before leaving Paris. Thanks to Eddie Dumb, drums, Thomas Hartlaub, woodbloc, Anette Smyrnjic, egitar, Gino Varese, electric violin, La Choire Eccentrique de Reims, and not to forget me, the bass player. We all have had a great time these days... Now Gino sold his violin, Thomas is driving taxi and Anette married a Canadian oil engineer. But the show must go on. SNAPP7 is a new piece, created at night watching CNN during the Gulf war in Febrary 91. This song is dedicated to whatever causes these kinds of war between the capitalist world and the third world. We are so terribly in fear of losing our hereditary markets that we need to carefully watchout for any starving despotic countries trying to gain power. The song consists of ten small parts which can seperately be edited by the player programme if you like. Have fun, Jim
