                          A DOORS (st)INC. Door.

This doc contained excessive levels of LAME abuse - which was removed in
the interests of public morality. Nobody should have to tolerate reading
docs where nearly every line of text contains a four-letter 'endearment'

To Krion (if you ever see this) - good work on the door, I assume it
works - but grow up. You don't have to swear to be cool!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hack'n'Slash on MAXs BBS has long been considered 'impossible'. Just the
sort of thing I wanted to try. It turns out that it's not only possible,
but it's also ****'n easy to do. If you went to a lot of effort trying to
do it - suck ****.

And now you can run it on your own /<-RaD MAXs board!

This is all you have to do...

Get yourself a copy of Hack'n'Slash, and install it in DOORS:H&S/. If you
don't like the directory name, because you don't have a DOORS: assign or
because you wanna call it DOORS:HackAnd****ingSlash/ - **** you - I'm not
writting parameter passing code as well. Consider yourself lucky that you
even have this.

Make sure that you run HSServer in your startup sequence and you've set
everything up so you can run it from the shell.

In order to recognise the user, Hack'n'Slash needs a unique 'thing' about
that user passed to it. MHS uses the user's name, so if you're name is
"LAMER" then you can run Hack'n'Slash from the shell with "HSClient Lamer".

Rad! But you want it running in MAXs right? Ok, we'll get to that. First of
all - if you use LAMOS you're a lamer. Learn a real ****'n language, and
don't EVER consider what you're doing to be 'code'. Don't even consider
writting a LAMOS "demo" (I use the term "demo" very loosly) and putting the
words "Coding by" next to your name.

MAXs "doors" (I use the term loosly again) that need the HiSoft BASIC
library suck ****. You may as well be running a ****ing interpreter in the
background.

Writting doors is lame. The only appeal is that you can write these /<eWL
Dox. Which bring me to another important point...

iF U RiTe LyKe DiZ, CoZ Ur A R/\D D0000000D!$#%%!^! - **** you. No one
can be ****ed trying to understand you, because A> Its too hard reading
that sorta **** and B> Because you're a loser and no one gives a flying
**** what you have to say. [What a hypocrite!]

If you program in C or some other high level language - Good for you! But
if you think the executable you make is FAST - you've got rocks in your
brain. If you want to write fast code learn Assembler.

ARexx is a scripting language. Its there for scripts and things. Its not
there for you to write stand-alone programs with. And while on the topic of
ARexx - what's with all these ARexx compilers and encrypters!? Do you
seriously think that people are after your 'code'? Give me a ****ing break,
it's just ARexx - you're not doing anything amazing with it.

OK, back to the relavent issues. People who charge registration for doors
should be shot. Have YOU asked for registration for one of your doors? If
so - **** you. I'm sick of hearing your "I've put a lot of time and effort
to bring you this blah blah" ****. People go to a lot more effort to write
completely free utilities and demos. You think the 'effort' you went to
compares with the effort that was put into, say, ProTracker? And you get to
use ProTracker free of charge.

And SysOps - DONT PAY REGISTRATION FOR DOORS! The guys that ask for their
doors to be registered are just trying to rip you off. Don't let them!
Doors take hardly any time or skill to write - they don't deserve your
money...

Ok, now that you've read all that, and only IF you've read it ALL, copy MHS
into DOORS:H&S. Yes, with the rest of the **** thats already in there!

Now load up your favorite text editor or if you don't know your ANSI codes,
your favourite ANSI editor, and add Hack'n'Slash to your doors menu. It
might be a good idea to put in a few !'s after it, because afterall -
you're about to have Hack'n'Slash running on your MAXs board, and thats a
monumental achievment! I'll congratulate you once you've actually done it
tho'!

Now, go to the menu config, and into your doors menu. Choose a letter to
select Hack'n'Slash, and make it run function 34 (run a door). The door
you're running will be DOORS:H&S/MHS.

Ok, thats it! You've now got Hack'n'Slash running on your /<-RaD board!

Congratulations. You don't deserve it, but anyway...

Hopefully I've offended a lot of people with my comments. If not - ****
you. To complain about my comments or about the annoying 5 second delay
when MHS loads, which serves no purpose other then to piss you off and
advertise our boards, you can reach me on my board...

Or the Cydonia WHQ - Twisted Dreams BBS - +61 2 636-4990...

You can also send your email to peterb@labyrinth.apana.org.au

And make sure you check out our demos, available on all Cydonia boards.

This is a DOORS (st)INC. production - the blemish on an otherwise fine
group: Cydonia.
