SetTDRetry © 1994 by S. Koszewski Version 37.1 1. Copyrights. This program is Public Domain, this means you can do with it what you want (source code included). Remember, use this program on your own risk. I will not be responsible for the side effects caused by the use or misuse of this program. 2. Introduction. Have you ever got PC0: and DS0: mounted both? Well, I have. Don't you think it is irritating when the drive retries many times trying to detect the disk format (3 times for PC0: and 3 time for DS0:). Well, I think it IS! So, I have written this little AmigaDOS command which will solve this problem. Just run it with suitable argument and your drives will quickly catch the disk, even when several handlers are bound to the 'trackdisk.device' unit. 3. Requirements. This program is AmigaDOS 2.0+ only and will not run under Kick 1.3, however it will not crash your Amiga. 4. Installation. Copy the SetTDRetry to your C: directory, and include in the 's:user-startup' file. 5. Usage. The AmigaDOS Template for SetTDRetry: UNITS=U/N/M,RETRYCOUNT=RC/N/K,QUIET=Q/S It can be displayed by running the command with '?' as argument. UNITS - Specify the unit numbers of drives to be affected. Actually trackdisk supports only 4 units 0,1,2 and 3. RETRYCOUNT - The retries count - when not specified will be set to default 10. Set this to 1,2 or 3. QUIET - when included, disables console output just like '>NIL:'. 6. Contacting the author.
