DNet SAS/C version TNA3.02 by Trevor Andrews Monday 27-Jun-94 19:49:31 DNET (c)Copyright 1988, Matthew Dillon, All Rights Reserved. This is the conversion of DNet from GCC to SAS/C 6.x It is based on version 2.40GCC (ocf.berkeley.edu) DNET_TNA302bin.lha Amiga binaries DNET_TNA302src.lha Amiga sources DNET_TNA302unix.lha Unix sources Note: 1. This version no longer requires ixemul.library and is much more OS2.x and OS3.x compatible. 2. The NFS stuff will need worked on. NFS is the main use for Amiga<->Amiga networks? 3. You may use DNet from an icon if the defaults meet your needs. If not, try writing a script and using IconX... 4. Use the 2.42 Unix sources for now! 5. dnet.device works with this version! Reference: You may set "DNet -m1 -F" on the Amiga side to send 7bit packets to the Unix host and still set -m0 -F on the Unix DNet side to send 8bit packets from the Unix side to the Amiga. (Notice -F has opposite meanings on the different sides!!) This feature is useful for some Unix sites that can send 8bit but not receive it! I dunno why... To test what setting you need try "putfiles " If it locks or fails try the 7bit packet modes. Warning: DNet's usage template has had minor changes. The new defaults assume a 8bit connection with a high speed modem.... For example -F now turns OFF the fast mode. (Amiga side only!) -F automaticly turns on -m0 8bit packet mode It will be rough for awhile, I hope to rewrite most of the amiga and unix code and all the documentation. My hope is to breath life back into this old monster, remember when the original was released A1000s and 2400 baud modems were cutting edge technology! I hope to speed up the overall operation of packet communications... Amiga<->BSD Unix I plan on writing "InterLink" based clients such as talk, telnet, ftp, and mail services in the hopes to support Amiga Mosaic and URLs of mailto, file, ftp... Amiga<->Amiga Support Putfiles, Getfiles, NFS... Please be patient! Trevor Andrews Imagine Software, Inc.
