Introduction
~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have been using Fidonet for a couple of years now.  Recently a
number of boards have gone down in my area leaving only 1 board from which
I can access the echo's I wanted.  The only problem is that this board run
on DLG and doesn't produce .qwk mail packets.  It produces it's own .txt 
files which I used to read using a text editor which became tedious.  To 
solve this problem I made this offline message reader for this file format. 
This program is totally Public Domain.  It may be distributed freely as
long as all files in the archive, mentioned later on in the docs, remain
intact and unaltered.  At the end of this file is a list of ways I can be
reached.  I appreciate all comments and ideas.

     In your archive you should have the following files:

                       Msgrd      - Main Program
                       Msgrd.info - Icon
                       Msgrd.doc  - This file
     
     Please do not delete or alter these files in any way.

What does it do??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     As mentioned in the intro this program is an offline message reader
for DLG Bbs.  It simply takes the file you download and presents it in a
little cleaner fashion.

     The program starts off with a file requestor through which you choose
the mail packet you wish to read.  Once this choice is made you come to
the main menu at which you have 5 choices:

  (F)rom search    - searches through messages for certain From: string.
  (T)o search      - searches through messages for certain To: string.
  (S)ubject search - searches through messages for certain Subject: string.
  (A)ll Messages   - reads through all messages.
  (Q)uit           - exits DLG Message Reader

     After you have picked your choice and search string if necessary the
program will start reading messages.  You will see on your screen the new
message base you'll be reading along with the number of new messages. 
This will also happen whenever you come across a new message base in your
reading.  After this you will start reading messages.

     At the end of each message you will be given the following options:

         <RT> - return key: goes to next message.
          s   - skip to message # x.
          q   - quit to main menu.
          r   - if you have a printer attached you can print to it the
                number of the current message so you can keep track of
                the message #'s you want to reply to.
          ?   - This menu.

     The operation of this program is basically self explanitory and if
you have ever used an offline reader before you will have to troubles
using it.

Notes:

     The .txt files that DLG produces are basic sequential files which
means that they are rather slow and bulky to work with as any programmer
will tell you.  Therefore I suggest that you read your mail from a hard
drive or Ram if you have enough of it.  I myself haven't even tried it on
a floppy drive so I don't know how slow it would be.
 
     There may be a number of bugs in this program that I don't know of. 
I haven't had the oportunity to a lot of testing on mail packets with more
than one message base in it.  If you find any bugs in the code please
contact through one of the methods below.  Also any fellow AMOS
programmers can get the source code from me the same way.
