============================================================================= GROUPS -- AN EDITSYS MODULE ============================================================================= GROUPS and EDITSYS are both copyright 1993, Ed Sutherland. DISTRIBUTION ============ GROUPS is copyrighted FreeWare. This ORIGINAL archive may be freely distributed. WHAT IS IT? =========== GROUPS is an Intuition-based offline utility for sysops of TelePro Technologies' "DLG" BBS package. With GROUPS, you can create, edit or delete user groups. GROUPS is a module of EDITSYS. This module can be run on its own or in conjunction with the EDITSYS control panel. MSG, FILE, NET and GEN modules are also being developed. THE DISPLAY =========== There are two "list windows" - one for groups and one for users. Under each window is a "string box" where information may be entered. Under each string box are three gadgets, labelled "List", "Add" and "Kill". OPERATION ========= To start, simply type "Groups", followed by a C/R. The GROUPS window will open and the display (see above) will be seen. (Note: there may be a slight delay before the group and user lists are printed.) To list the members in each group, select the group and click on the "List" gadget in the "Groups" area. To create a new group - in the "Group" string box - type the group name. (No spaces allowed) Next, select a user to head the group. Once that information is entered, click on the "Add" gadget in the "Group" section. (IMPORTANT: do not first choose "Add" then the required information.) To kill a group, select the groupname and then click on "Kill". You will be shown a requester confirming your action. To add a user to an existing group, select the group name and user name. Then click on the "Add" gadget in the "Users" section. To remove a user from a group, select the groupname and the username, then choose "Kill" in the "Users" section. FEEDBACK ======== For questions and comments, I can be reached either at 1:2430/4 or the _CHAT or _DEV echos. Ed Sutherland, June 26, 1993
