Overview:
 DLCount will read your BBS:Datbase.active file and write out a text file
containing the filenames and number of times they have been accessed
(downloaded).
 You can run DLCount either from the Shell or from a batch (script) file.
When run from the Shell with no arguments, a screen showing the option
flags will be displayed. At the prompt, enter the flag letters you wish
to activate. The option flags are;

a = Auto. For use from batch files, will not give a prompt of wait for
    any user input.

d = Description. Include file descriptions in the output file. This is
    the only option that will create a 2 line per file output, without
    this option a single line output file will be created.

f = Disable "DataBase blacklist" filter. By setting this flag you will get
    a complete listing of all files in all DB's except DB0:.

n = UserName. Include name of person that uploaded the file. This will
    be displayed on the same line as the filename.

t = TimeStamp. Include date the file was uploaded. This will be displayed
    on the same line as the filename.

0 = DB0:. When you "delete" a file using the DBUpkeep program, the filename
    and description are not 'realy' deleted, but it is rather set to DB0:.
    By default, DLCount does NOT include DB0: files. By setting this flag
    DB0: (deleted) files will be included in the output file.


WSHell Use:  DLCount <opt opt opt ...>
 Shell Use:  RX DLCount.rexx <opt opt opt ...>

Options can be give in any order, upper or lower case, and with or without
spaces between them.

DLCount atn    or   DLCount n a t

will cause DLCount to run Auto, and include Time and UserName.

DLCount d0f    or    DLCount d,0,F

DLCount 0 f D   or    DLCount -f -0 -d

will cause DLCount to disable the DB Filters, include Descriptions and DB0:
files.

In other words; it doesn't matter what order you put the flags in, or if
you do or don't include spaces, commas, or most anything else, as long as
the flag letters are somewhere on the command line.

Setup:
 Copy DLCount.rexx to your REXX: assigned directory.

 Edit the "OutFile" variable on line 11 to reflect the path and filename
you want the output file to go to. It is now set for 'TXT:2/File.List'.
You may want to put the file in a Text Base for user viewing, maybe not.

 Edit the "Filter" variable on line 13 to include the DataBase numbers
you do NOT want to appear on your output file listing. There must be a
SPACE between each number. The program is set to filter out DB8:, DB16:,
and DB20:. These are there only for exaple purposes, you WILL want to edit
this variable to fit your system setup.  The Filter Off flag will disable
the blacklist.

Be sure to use a 'real' text editing program when editing ARexx files. Do
NOT use Ed that comes with your WorkBench disk. The reason for this is
there are quite often escape sequence codes in the ARexx file, Ed will
"strip" these out. You should be able to edit DLCount with Ed because I
create variables using hex entry, so there are no actual escape codes in
the program to lose. Who would want to use Ed for anything anyway? Its
always one of the first things I delete off a WB disk. If you have nothing
better, the Emacs text editor on your Extras: disk will work quite nicely.
There are many good PD and Shareware text editors available. Myself, I use
TxEd Plus, it has a Rexx port, does most everything I need, and crunches
down to just over 17k. Sounds like a danged advertisment. (gadd I ramble)

 You may want to run this utility from the Shell once in a while to get
an updated listing. Or you may want to include it in your SkyDaily or
possibly make it a CRON event to automate it for daily updating.
If you use DLCount from a batch file, be sure to use the "Auto" flag, if
you don't... it will sit there waiting for you to press RETURN, before
continuing.

 Howdy Skyfolks! Yes, I'm still alive. I live in the mountains with no
electric or phone. Running the ol' A1000 on 12 volts and using a 5 inch
composite color monitor (squinting eyes). The 12v setup is somthing now,
so hopfully I will be able to be a little more productive then the past 6
months have been. I can get a good 8 to 10 hours computing time out of a
full charge on my battery bank (I have big batteries).
 Have tried to get logged on Crystal Wind whenever I make it into town,
which is about twice a month... no luck.. always just rings.
 Without my bbs up and running (too far in the woods, no phone lines) I
get bored and "play" with all the other goodies I didn't take as much
time with before, like DPaint IV, Imagine 2.0, Director II, Vista, and
other such graphic type goodies. But, not that I have the computer and
hard drive (even) running on 12 volts, I will get back into SkylineII
utils and games that I started working on before I had to move.
 Got my SkylineII notice in the mail. Gonna send in for it so I can have
it all set up and ready to go when I get back to civilization (phone/elec).
 Had a light winter, only a few inches of snow that didn't last long. The
honkers are flying overhead in V formation heading north. Plenty of Gods
creatures out here to keep me company. Brown bear, mountain lion with
cub (that time of year again), deer, squirrel, fox (several kinds), rabbit,
woodpecker, mountaiin jay, hawk (red tail I think), scorpion, rattler,
spider (some deadly), big ants, little ants, mosquito, bees, wasps, and
oh so, so much more. The air is crisp and clean, and its 5 miles in any
direction to a paved road.
 Those of you that know of my two dogs, Bitch and Son... The old Bitch
passed on a few days before Christmas. She was 19 1/2 years old. Now I
only have Son, 18 1/2 years old, 120 lb. Staffordshire Terrior who thinks
he is a puppy.   I miss my BBS.     ...(rambling on and on, as usual...)

 I wrote this program because Frank "The Greek" Alexandar asked if I could
write a program that would show how many times each file had been accessed.
Of course, I took it a little further than that, but this program is
dedicated to The Greek for his great Skyline util idea.
