I have been writing a bbs for the past 2 months, mainly because all of the
amiga BBS's honestly are pretty hurting. Each has one or two novelties, but
none go very far. All of them have one thing in common though: They all
eat up lots of ram.

My system should be available in about a month and will probably be the best
around for atleast 2 years (if I don't update it). A GENERAL overview of
features listed below:

-Written in Arexx and C. Unlimited message and file areas.
-Multilne with mulitline chat (no limit to # of lines).
-Flexable userlog (a door can have it's own record in the userlog, so you
don't have to maintain separate 'door' lists and things).
-Low memory usage. 1st bbs eats 110k, 2nd 80k, 3rd 80k...
-Extremely simple to use compiled menu system that lets you do amazing
things that normaly would have had to have been built in to the bbs.
-Doors are easy to add. Infact, 80% of the bbs is made up out of
fast loading doors (keeps down on memory usage).
-Automatic userlog and message base backup.
-Hard drive saver (keeps the last x messages of busy areas in a ramdisk
device of your own choosing so your hard drive doesn't need to whirrrrrr)
Also, it keeps menus and things in a ramdisk.
-Tree structured message system. Weird at first, but quite inteligent
and neat. If you've ever used magpie, it's something like that, but
 not as confusing.
-Inteligent editor with command line. For now, it's still a line by
line editor, but it's much better than most editors.
-Automatic use promotion system. If you contribute to the system, you
 get more time online.
-Time Bank door (save unused time to an account, earn interest). Need to
download that big file? Why bother the sysop! Take a loan from the
 bank! (adjustable interest!)
-A tradewars like game will be included, but it's a stock market simulation

I provide REAL terminal support for any Skypic (if you create the menus),
IBM-PC ansii, Ansi colour, ansi monochrome, televideo, VT52 monochrome,
V52 colour, ascii and anything else I get info on.

Doors can be written easily in Arexx, and use all of the BBS's support
modules (to type files, poistion cursor, get user variables, run doors
from inside other doors, etc...). No mucking about like quickBBS does.

The system is called PONS acadamy, and is made by a 2 man company of me and
a friend ('spaghetti western words and images'). I'm going to put out a
shareware version, while not crippled, won't include MANY spiffies that the
commercial system will. Not as many included games, no typeset docs, and no
fido support (I'm going to try to write message conversion utilities for one
of those amiga fido readers). I want to sell it for.. and get this: $70
